Can baby hold glass bottle?

This might be a really dumb question, but for the glass bottle users out there - once LO starts holding their own bottle, is it fine too keep using glass (8 oz bottle)? I know there are silicone covers you can get to prevent breakage, but I guess my fear is that it might be too heavy.

I don't see why they couldn't. I mean I'd give it a test run not on a tile floor.

We use glass avent naturals and if he can hold it we will try it out. I probably won't let him hold it while laying down. All I can see is it falling on his little face. My toddler has dropped them on the tile and the driveway and they are doing fine. I bought a silicone sleeve for the 4 ounce bottles but have not for the 8 ounce bottles. I probably won't either, if they survived a fall on the concrete I think they will be fine. Hope that helps!
