Babies close in age?

So I started feeling "off" last night and this afternoon, I decided to take a pregnancy test and of course...I'm pregnant, AGAIN!

DD just turned 9 months, and I am freaking out. Has anyone had babies close together and what have been your experiences? I called my husband bawling. Not because I don't want another baby, but because I feel horrible for my DD since she is so young! I was close in age with my brother and we fought our entire childhood

Also, we still breastfeed/pump full time. Can I realistically plan on continuing breastfeeding DD without any issues with my milk supply?

To make things even harder DH just left this morning on a trip for 2 weeks and I feel so alone! I'm crossing my fingers that I don't get full blown morning sickness while he's gone and I'm alone with DD.

My son is 19 months and my daughter is 5 months. It's really no big deal. They loooove each other, so far anyways. My son was 5 months when I got pregnant, I nursed through my pregnancy and nurse them both now. It was difficult towards the end when my milk was scarce but worth it.

My brother and I are 18 months apart, and we fought a fair share but we were also seriously inseparable. As a sibling, I loved our age difference.

I am pregnant and still BFing, although not an infant. My advice to you for that is to take it one day at a time. By that I mean, I wouldn't worry about not being able to until and unless it becomes a problem, and then you can worry about supplementing or weaning then.

@theultimatesak‌ I called him right away. I didn't want to over the phone, but I couldn't keep that in for 2 weeks. He is super excited. He wanted another right away and I've been had been telling him I wanted to wait till DD was older.

When I found out I was pregnant this time Harper was 10 mos old and I definitely freaked out. When I have the baby Harper will be 19 mos. Am I scared? Of course lol! But it's a blessing and I'm sure I'll be fine. I'll just drink lots of coffee and probably weep into that coffee but I'll surVive! A friend of mine got pregnant with #2 when her son was 2 mos old and they are Best buddies now

DD will be 20-21 months when the baby I'm carrying is born. So obviously I can't say anything about parenting them, but DD did quit BFing cold turkey at 13 months because my milk pretty much instantly dried up. But I don't think that's the norm at all. My brother and I are 17 months apart and my mom nursed him through her pregnancy with me. And yeah, we had our share of fights but all siblings do no matter the age gap. We're in our twenties married with kids now and we're still best friends. Congratulations on the baby! I'm sure once the shock wears off you'll be able to get more excited :] T&Ps that your morning sickness doesn't cause issues. Having HG with a 1 year old suckeddd but we got through it.

Congratulations!!  DD#2 was 4 mo old when I found out I was pregnant again.  DD#2 and DD#3 are 13 mo apart.  I know exactly what you mean about crying.  It's a happy yet terrified cry.  I wholeheartedly agree w/ ITK that you have to take it one day at a time.  I am not going to tell you how hard it is, b/c you are probably worried enough already (hence your post).  Just take a deep breath, take care of yourself, and enjoy mommyhood x2!  PM me if you have any specific questions. 

I was breastfeeding when I found out I was pregnant.  After researching it, I found it's totally safe to continue.  For me it was painful (like how it felt in the first few days after she was born).  I stopped 2 mo later b/c my supply plummeted and I could not get it back up.  I was really hoping to tandem nurse.  Oh well!

Congrats! My boys are almost 18mo apart, and V is so good with his little bro most of the time. Even giving kisses and hugging him. I nursed throughout my pregnancy, and V will still nurse at nap time and bedtime most days. Just take it one day at a time!

Congratulations! My two are 18 months apart and at 2.5 and 15 months are inseparable. It seems like the perfect age gap to me. My DD was 9 months when I got pregnant with DS, and was breastfed. We made it until 12 months but just barely. By 10.5 months I was only getting a couple of ounces a day when I pumped so I started using my freezer stash for bottles for daycare. Shortly after that DD started refusing her bottles, and wouldn't take a cup either. It was pretty stressful but we finally got her to take a sippy cup and started her on cow's milk with her pedi's blessing at around 11 months. I continued to bf, but slowly cut out feedings until we were at only 1 per day at 12 months. Then I cut that last feeding a few days after her birthday.

My DS and baby #3 will be 20 months apart. My supply started to drop right away when I became pregnant this time, and it coincided with my DS becoming way too busy to sit still and nurse, so he quit on his own at 12 months as well.

Logan and Anders are 17 months apart. The only rough part is Logan started his terrible twos early, right before Anders was born. He takes a lot of attention away from Anders. It was okay in the beginning but now that he's awake more, I feel horrible about it. I was feeling bad about thunking Logan was going to get less attention, boy was I wrong!

I can't help with BFing. Logan refused to nurse shortly after I got pregnant. Like around 4 weeks.

DD was about 9m when I found out I was pregnant with DS. I love having them so close in age. I'm a lot more worried about this baby being over 5 years apart from my youngest.

Congrats! My brother and I are 17 months apart, and got along great growing up. My mom tells stories about how he would "take care" of me when I was born....if I wanted a bottle, he would climb on the kitchen counter and get it for me (much to my mom's chagrin, lol).

On the other hand, I have a sister who is 4 years older than me, and we fought constantly growing up. Clearly anecdotal, but I'm a fan of kids being closer together!

No experience as a mom (I'm a FTM), but my sister and I are 20 months apart and have been best friends our whole lives.  It's the best thing in the world having a built in buddy.  I've asked DH to try to knock me up again right away so we can hopefully have kids close in age, too.

My boys are 15 months apart. The baby is only a month old, but the toddler has done great. He has learned to entertain him self a little, he loves his brother already. And though he and I don't spend as much 1 on 1 time as we used to, when we do I make the most of it so it is  better quality time.

My siblings and I are all close in age and we all fought all of the time, but now that we are older, we get along much better. Though I'm still closest with my sibling who is closest to my age.

No baby experience, but my sister and I are close in age and inseparable. We fought like feral cats as kids, admittedly, but have been very close

Congratulations, I'm sure it's scary but you'll be ok! My sister and I are 13 months apart and we were best friends as kids. Of course we fought too but that's just normal siblings. The truth is, it was really nice having a sister so close in age because we moved a lot and we always had each other. Because we were so close in age we enjoyed doing the same things together for a long time. I'm sure that made things a little easier for my mom. I know it will be hard in the beginning but it will be worth it!

I just wanted to add to this that it is so hard to imagine what your baby will be like when the new one gets here. Its hard not to see them at the age they are now. 9 months is a long time in baby age- she might seem way to young right now, but by the time the new baby arrives, she will most likely be walking and talking- which makes a WORLD of difference.
