Does anyone else constantly think they're pregnant?

Just a fun/musing question, nothing too serious, but does anyone else's mind go straight to pregnant with the least provocation?

I'm on the pill and only have four periods a year, if that (mine are rough, I avoid them if at all possible), so I don't get that monthly reassurance.  I swear I take a pregnancy test at least twice a year due to nausea or soreness or whatever odd symptom has me feeling off that month.  I think I may be slightly paranoid because I come from a family of Fertile-Myrtles who constantly tell me about their oops babies (if you took them all at their word I think half my cousins would have been conceived while on protection).  Of course, they may have been trying to scare me off a bit, being a bit of a Randy-Mandy in my younger years.  I've been feeling a little weird these past two weeks and thinking about taking one of the tests I have at home; it just occurred to me that this may be the last I take hoping for a no!

It's going to feel so odd switching to HOPING I'm pregnant in a few months!

I mean, when I was TTC- sure I did think/ hope I was pregnant every month.

I'm on Quasense so I won't be getting my next period until mid-December, and even then they're so light now I barely notice them (tmi-sorry).  I know NOW that my fertility is my own, but I was raised with the threat that my entire maternal side of the family got pregnant basically holding hands with the opposite sex, so I think I still have mild paranoia that I will magically get pregnant on the pill and not find out for the entire first trimester.  We're not TTC until the summer, so I won't worry about my potential fertility until next year.

This is less a serious inquiry than a bored-at-work and laughing at my own paranoia.  I was curious as to if anyone else had silly "maybe I'm pregnant" thoughts when they are very likely not.

Once in awhile I have a two month stretch where right before my period I am full blown convinced I am KTFU. Never am. Then I don't think about it for 6+ months or so then and then I work myself up again.

We aren't TTC and it isn't a good time but I would be over the moon.

I thought that way long before I ever was TTC though. I think it's pretty common.

Isn't a total mindflip that PMS symptoms and pregnancy symptoms are so similar?

It's really not fair that pregnancy and pms symptoms are basically the same Ebuchan!  I'm really sensitive to hormonal shifts, so I get the full blast of symptoms (hence 4 periods a year).  And that "I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant" show doesn't help my paranoia! 

Good luck on TTC btw!!  I hope you get that positive test soon!

This is exactly why I choose to temp.  I no longer feel "irregular" as I can confirm ovulation and therefore know when to expect my period.  I got my first PP period today and I'm actually happy about that because I can start temping again (we'll be trying for another in about 6 months).
