I keep reading this is a sign of early labor, is this true? I normally have bm once it twice a week but this week I've had at least one everyday and today I woke up with diarrhea, can anyone tell me if they had this before going into labor?
I always heard loose bowels could be a sign of labor but I have had them since 36 weeks and I'll be 39 this Friday. My Dr said its normal and doesn't mean always that labor is near. Guess its better than being constipated which is what I was most this pregnancy. With my first I didn't have either issue.
I literally thought I had a stomach virus the day I went into labor with DD. I was up at 3 am and could not stop pooping. I had my first contraction at 6:30 am and had her that night
I had horrible diarrhea for a day or two before I went into labor with my son and daughter. However, this pregnancy I have had diarrhea almost every day since week 19.
It can be a sign of labor. Your body pushing everything out to get ready for the baby to come. BUT - it won't be the only other sign. There will be more than just that to indicate labor.
I've been getting it a lot too. I chalk mine up to stress and anxiety and morning sickness re-appearing.
I'm in the same exact boat. Almost 33 weeks and just starting noticing some changes in my "movements." But, i'm not reading too much into it because i have literally no other signs of labor. So I'd just keep a close eye on your body for any other signs of labor, talk with your doc at next appt, etc.
Re: diarrhea in late pregnancy?
My sis just had a baby and she said she pooped her brains out the day before she went into labor. I think it really just depends.
