Just wanted to pass some advice along if your little one gets a cold/cough that won't go away then suddenly gets worse please get them to their dr ASAP. Ds started with a cough Saturday afternoon got a little worse Sunday but not too bad then got very worse overnight Monday. He had. Congestion and coughing fits but was still eating ok. He then started refusing to eat and by the time I got him to the ped his pulse ox was 70-80, hr was in the 220s and we were transferred to children's hospital by mobile icu. I felt horrible and cried most of the day Monday but ped explaned that little ones can get bad in a hurry and not to beat myself up. We are now on the 3rd day in the hospital and are continuing breathing treatments..he is slowly improving but it just takes time. Just a little fellow mom advice to be vigilant about this fall/winter

Oh gosh, my LO has had an on-and-off cough and congestion for the past couple days.  Gonna keep an even closer eye on that.  Hope your baby is better and home with you soon!

I hope he gets better fast! We are so worried about RSV, thankfully my mom watches him so I don't have to worry about daycare germs but it seems like it can come from anywhere.

Glad he's on the mend. Grr had RSV a couple weeks ago, but he was ok. We just watched him closely.

So sorry you're going through this! Thank you for sharing this. I wanted to let you know that you're not alone, my sister had a very similar experience with my niece (now 3 years old). RSV is nasty! I hope your LO has a speedy recovery!

A quick somewhat random question, @bp607, what is it like in the hospital with a baby?  My LO was in the NICU for the 1st 18 days of his life....is that where your baby is, or do you get a normal room for him?  Can you stay with him overnight,etc?

It was just like if you went to the hospital, he had a crib instead of bed and there was a chair that converted into a sleeper and another recliner. If he hadn't started responding to treatment then we would have been talking icu and I'm not quite sure what that would have been like thankfully. We were able to stay overnight with him.

This.  DD, over the past two days, has come down with what seems like a nasty cold.  Really congested and coughing.  I will keep an eye on her a little closer.  So far, she's eating well.
