I can't stop eating pizza!

Okay June Moms, I have a confession to make. I have been eating two slices of Dominoes pizza EVERYDAY for that last 2 weeks. I can't stop craving it. Healthy fruits and vegetables taste bland and bitter to me, and I'm starting to have an aversion to anything not spicy! I can't make this stop. I'm so normally very active ( I trained and ran 4 half marathons this fall) and now can't because I can't breathe (4.5 weeks of pregnancy rhinitis). Anyone else have any ideas how to stave off the cravings until I can get back to the gym? My knees are starting to look a little... Flabby.

  • Also, when I said spicy, I meant salty. I wouldn't say I'm eating more than I normally do as far as calories, but I'm having trouble getting to the gym because it makes me feel sicker and more tired.

  • My all-organic, healthy-living, picture-of-inspiration girlfriend ate nothing but cheese pizza for her first 18wks. It was so against her grain but all she could stomach!

  • wow that's a lot of pizza lol. Don't worry your definitely not alone... I'm fighting the Little Ceasars deep dish pizza and hot Cheetos with nacho cheese cravings almost everyday! I feel so guilty every time I cave because I promised myself this pregnancy was gonna be healthier than my 1st but soo much harder than I remembered the first time around. I'm just trying to eat the healthy stuff in the morning when I can stomach it the most. Also, I'm going to try and make pizza at home with a healthier twist (whole wheat crust, spinach, etc) and hopefully that will do the trick for my little Caesars craving

  • Pizza is something i can stomach right now. I do still love my fav.....veggie. So thats good. I do miss beer to go with my pizza though :)

  • Eat all the pizza and have no worries. I'm loving mc donalds. As long as you re taking ur prenatals i think you'll be ok

  • Same here! I eat pizza at least twice a week. The amount of bread helps me alot with my morning sickness (which I have ALL DAY :( ). So eat away and keep taking those prenatals, you'll be fine :)
  • I'm with you ladies! I lost 37 pounds this past year by eating super clean and healthy. I thought for sure I could keep up the clean eating during pregnancy but I was soooo wrong! I'm 10 weeks tomorrow and my nausea is letting up a little, it comes and goes now rather than all day, I'm working on getting back to clean. Before that it was cocoa puffs and pizza and french fries, pretty much any empty carb was all I could eat! I'm hoping it gets better! I want to stay healthy!
  • Pizza is my favorite since I've been pregnant. I have it at least once a week.

  • Hey, if it sounds good eat it! I've found that to be my motto lately, as pretty much everything sounds so blah to me.
  • Mine is spaghetti. At least 3 times a week. I think I'll start buying ragu by the case. ..pizza sound good, too!

  • I only wanted pizza from 6-8 weeks (and Mcdonalds in between) but at almost 9 weeks I don't want pizza anymore and I am starting to crave my salads and healthier things now. Hope it sticks. Ice cream though; it has been a constant yes!

  • I could eat pizza and tacos every day! The only other thing that sounds good to me is soup (veggie or chicken noodle), which I have been eating a lot of as well. The only problem is that my blood sugars came back elevated at 7 weeks so I am trying to limit my carbs. I had one piece of thin crust with extra sauce, cheese and mushrooms! A little messy, but a compromise until I get the results from my 3 hour glucose test next week!
  • Ellios pizza over here! Haven't had frozen pizza since college and now I can't stop eating it. Also, eating bagels practically everyday and mcdonalds at least once a week. Now is the time to do it ladies :) if you are craving it, it means the baby wants it! (At least, that's my excuse. That and the fact that I'm eating for 3)
  • Well, reading through these, I was feeling pretty smug and superior about my healthy food choices lately, until I remembered what I brought to work today to snack on.  Cinnamon pita chips to dip in a jar of Nutella.

    One helping of humble pie, please!

  • Thanks all!!! I'm feeling a lot better now! I think I'll try to eat some oatmeal or something for lunch today instead if pizza. Probably better since a I now have a fever in the 100's. I'm roasting. Hello flabby knees!
  • We have pizza once a week and I completely look forward to Friday! We typically get papa murphy's because it's quick and cost effective. Burgers..I've also been craving burgers but I try to do like every other week or so on those. I think I'm do OK...not great but OK. Hopefully the nausea will start to pass and I can get back to activity and foods I'm used to.  I shared with my Dr. yesterday that I was disappointed that I haven't had the will or energy to work out and she said not to worry about it, that I'll get some energy back and that the first Tri is HARD.  I lurve her!!!
  • Bagels every morning with cream cheese. Potato chips through out the day. If it weren't for the fact that it takes me half an hour to get to Freebirds thanks to construction, I would eat that for lunch EVERYDAY. And usually Ramen noodles or pasta for dinner.

    Today I am being good and having a salad for lunch, with shrimp because chicken sounds gross to me right now.

  • I love pineapple and ham, I am so addicted and I am not a bread eater at all.
  • It's been cereal for me... Cheerios for breakfast AND dinner the last few days. And I am eating Cheezits right now. I can't explain it other than carbs are the only things that don't smell funny to me.
  • Gluten free pizza, gf bean & cheese burritos, and french fries..... i used to eat 1 bunch of kale a day.... now i can barely think about veggies much less eat them.....totally understand.

  • Could do pizza once a day but I've managed to keep it to once a week. 
     Picking up one from Whole foods tonight actually :) wayyyyyy too tired to cook! Plus my little guy gets so excited over pizza as a treat so it makes me happy he's happy too! .....and I figure because it's from WF I can feel less guilty....lol .........so maybe I should up it to twice a week! Yes. Yes I should.

  • Mmm yes. Pizza sounds so good. We usually don't eat that much pizza, but we got it last week and then had it again Saturday night with friends. And it still sounds awesome to me right now. Here in the UK, Pizza Express is really big and they do a super thin crust pizza, so it's not too bad on carbs...except that I can eat the whole pizza by myself :-\ omg, I'm starving! Thankfully DH has tamales for us for dinner!
  • I am TOTALLY craving pizza! I've eaten a ton and it's my husbands dream (I'm usually a carb cop in our household). He made homemade pizza last week and one day I ate it for every meal.

    Last night he saw a recipe for kale pizza and asked if it sounded good to me. My response was, "The pizza part sounds good." And as for the kale, he asked, "Well, it's better if it's on pizza."
  • All I want is lots of fruit and any ice cream that has chocolate in it! ;)
  • Haha I totally get it!! Although it could be worse! I downed HALF a freakin pizza FIVE days in a row. Talk about zero self control. Don't worry, I washed it down with plenty of ice cream ;)
