Here's a WTF thought for the night

So I asked for certain records from my current RE's office to send to the second opinion office. I didn't really want copies, just wanted them to send them to the other office. Instead I got them in the mail today so that I can send them to the new office. Anyway, that's all besides the point.

Back when I switched to IVF I mentioned that the nurse referenced that the issue was "male factor" for us when I had to then explain why I didn't need a pregnancy test to tell me that I'm not pregnant after our cancelled IUI cycle. Well, as I looked through the papers, it literally says that on two pages! Under etiology, "male" is circled. Meanwhile, endometriosis is on the list but not circled AND husband is crossed out and C's name is listed. On the other page it says "factor" and male is listed with quotes around it. Also with husband crossed out and C's name put in there.

WTF?!?!?!?!?!?!!!!!!

We've been working on baby #1 since July 2013 using Open ID donor sperm.  8 IUI attempts with 5 actual IUIs and one chemical pregnancy.  We have one fresh IVF cycle under our belts as well as a FET.  I have endometriosis and a uterine septum that was corrected via surgery in November 2013.

11/14/14 -  Second HSG shows that tubes are still clear and ute is looking good.

12/6/14 - Started BCPs in prep for IVF #2

12/22/14 - Saline u/s and endometrial scratch (All was clear and OUCH!)

1/2/15 - Began stimming for IVF #2

  • Yup.  Insurance.

Sorry it makes you feel icky, I do understand that.  But I also know that I benefitted from having many visits and procedures covered by insurance when I had no actual infertility issues other than not having sperm at the ready.  I'm torn about it.

  • I have a diagnosis though, which is why I don't quite understand it. Plus this is written on our IVF paperwork - which was well after my official diagnosis and my insurance doesn't cover the IVF fee anyway.
