Weirded out today

Okay, I had a weird day. Let me know what you think.
We have had a monster truck parking on our front lawn for a few days. He is a good 10 inches onto our lawn, and has torn it up. I have knocked on every door, and cannot find the owner. So I called parking authority today.
The guy that came out basically told me I shouldn't have it towed because it's probably a drug lords car, they will see I am an attractive woman home alone and retaliate against me. So I basically realized he was telling me if I complain I will get assaulted? He was really weird.
He also stressed you don't file complaints against people who know where you live. And he called me a silly girl and said some just plain insulting type jabs at me. The whole you are a pretty lady and don't think, just weird.
He was weirding me out so I told him forget it. He then sat in front of my house for 30 minutes. He could have been eating lunch, who knows but I wonder if he was trying to intimidate me? I feel like, wtf just happened here? I am actually kind of nervous but I did call the supervisor. I haven't received a call back yet.

Re: Weirded out today

  • It's a good neighbourhood! I think it's just an idiot driver/bad parker. It is odd because it's bs plates and I am in Alberta. No one knows whose it is so that is odd. But this guy responds to parking complaints all day long. I'm guessing he isn't telling any men not to complain because they will get assaulted! I'm still kind of shocked!

  • Do you have a non-emergency police line that you can call...?

  • I wanted it towed, since it's been a few days. My note on the windshield, asking all the neighbours, nothing worked so I thought move onto towing. I never expected to be told not to tow it as the owner may come back and rape me!
  • That is super weird and creepy. I'm glad you called his supervisor, hopefully they'll get back to you soon.

Sounds like that guy watches a little too much of Sons of Anarchy. Only a really dumb criminal would draw unnecessary attention to himself, by leaving a vehicle out to be towed. Or it could be stolen and dumped, My guess would be a young oil patch guy that went on a bender and can't remember where he left his truck. Don't let that cop scare you.
  • Is it still there today?

  • I'd call and file a police report regardless. This is the type of discrimination and intimidation that really just needs to stop, and it needs to be on record that this happened. Hopefully you aren't in any real danger but what just happened is absolutely not appropriate or acceptable.

  • Yikes, that's insane!! :( Is the truck still there? I'd be more pissed about my lawn being torn up. Who does that?

Where I live, there's a 3-day rule: if someone reports your car abandoned or you get a ticket for not moving it on street-sweeping day, the cops automatically have it towed 3 days after the report/ticket. EVEN if it's your car parked in front of your house! One of our cars was towed while we were on vacation - we had just moved and none of the neighbors were familiar. It was beyond upsetting at the time but I'm actually glad we have it.

  • The truck is gone! The 5 houses on either side all had no idea. My neighbour a few doors down stopped by and was all curious. It's not really a monster truck kind of street lol, she was wondering if it was ours. The tires on this thing were bigger than me! So it was moved in the night sometime. And the supervisor called back. He said they had issues with that employee talking about "retribution" before lol! He wants me to come in and lodge a formal complaint. He basically told me that would get him fired. I am torn on what to do. I don't like the idea of getting someone fired but this man has issues! I told him I will call back by tomorrow and let him know.
  • After all that talk about retribution, I'd be scared to file a complaint. He knows where you live and seems a little crazy.

  • If you file a formal complaint, will he find out it was you?  If so, I would leave it alone.  He knows where you live and that you are home alone a lot.
  • I'm just going to let it go!
  • I would let it go. Is the truck still there?
