I was diagnoised last week with ITP (Low-Platelets, Thrombocytopenia). Im only 18 weeks and my platelet count is already at 57,000 and seems to be dropping about 10,000 every two weeks. When they first saw I had low platelets I was at 70,000. Anyway they have begun to suggest that if I continue on this path I will need treatments at about 30,000. The first thing they will try is predisone. My concern is that I am still so early in pregnancy that I worry about the effects on the baby. Has anyone gone though something similar or has anyone gone through these treatments and did it help/ how did delivery go? I am also worried about the baby having low platelets at birth. Any experiences or advise?? Thanks!
