TTC After a Loss

Intro Here Too (trigger: other children mentioned)

edited November 2014 in TTC After a Loss
I posted on the March thread, and thought I should also give a quick intro. I lurk here, but have been a little active on the TTC after 35.

(trigger: living children mentioned)

I had a mmc on September 1, at 11w. Baby had stopped growing at 8w. We had just started telling people, when it happened. We were actually camping, and I had to go to the ER because I had started bleeding. They told me that it was nothing, but because I went to the ER, protocol said I had to come back for a second blood draw 48 hours later. That's when I found out - and had to go back to the campground, pack everything up and tell our friends who were there too.

The following day I took Miso and had a horrible day, but it was physically over quickly. By that evening I was just weak and empty.

This is my second marriage, and I have a DS who is 14 and a DD who is 11. We were looking forward to adding to our family; DH has no bio children. I was/am nervous about starting over, but want it more than anything. I'm physically and emotionally in a better place than I was when I had my children and know that our family has so much to offer. I'm most worried that I have an expiration date - I'm 39.

That's about it for me. I have my good days and my bad days, like everyone else.

  • Thanks again everyone. I don't get to be around a lot right now, but I'm lurking often.

(I'm working full time and in school full time as well. It's almost the end of semester for me, so I'm swamped with deadlines)

This is the story of everyone's life :p

If you've got the time to lurk, you've got the time to support IMO.

  • I wanted to add one more thing. I'm sorry you feel that you have a deadline. I have been struggling with this too lately. I am 32 but would ideally like 2 more children. I've known ladies to have their first at or around 40 and they are healthy babies and I know women in their late 20s and early 30s struggle. Each person is different and yes being older might make it harder but not impossible. I'm sorry we ladies feel that we need to hurry and have children by a certain age. I hope the best for you.

  • I'm sorry for your loss. I am also 39 and although I know women are having healthy babies at 40+, I am wondering what my limit is mentally.

Welcome and good luck to you.

I am not sure how to say this without getting a "solicitation" warning so I guess I just say that I am not longer active on THIS site.

  • Thanks lovemybellag and Nikolie93. My brain knows that women my age are having babies - my cousin just had her first at 45!

Glad to know I'm not the only one who feels this way.
