Re: Hysteroscopy

  • I had one to remove polyps. It was totally routine. No food or drink after midnight before surgery. They gave me scrubs to wear when i got to the Hospital. They walked me down to OR and I met with the anesthesiologist, she told me what she was going to do. My Doc came in we talked briefly about the procedure and then i hopped up on the table. I was put out via syringe into my IV at first. Next thing I remember is waking up in recovery with DH next to me and feeling VERY groggy. I lay there for about 35-40 min. My doc came by and said everything went fine and even gave me a pic of my polyps. I was discharged sore and crampy with a script for pain meds. 2 days later I was good with regular advil and had some spotting for about a week.

I have had this but to remove uterine polyps. It was not a big deal at all, just take your pain killers and you will be fine. Sorry I don't have more to add, but honestly i don't have much to say because the surgery was nothing. You'll be fine.

  • I also had one to remove polyps. It wasn't bad. Wear comfy clothes & bring a pillow for the car ride home so the seat belt doesn't press on your abdomen. I only used naproxen after mine for cramps & didn't need the pain killers, but definitely have them ready in case. My biggest complaint was the abdomen full of gas after. That took several days to settle down.
