Newborn Stash- critique needed

I know you guys get these a lot... :)

This is baby #3, but first time cd-ing from newborn. I have 24 FB size M for later (used 6m-PT with previous 2).

My stash:

6 rumparooz newborn covers
24 newborn GMD prefolds (orange)
12 small GMD prefold (yellow)
12 newborn GMD workhorse (snapless)
1 Thirsties Duo size 1
3 snappies size 1

I know it's pretty basic... I have 2 wetbags and about 3 dozen wipes, although last time I just used disposable wipes. I am unsure whether I will want to use my FB later with this baby or see if I can destash them and just go with the prefolds... we will see how that goes.

Thoughts?

  • Looks pretty good to me too.  I agree with OR that if you decide to get another cover or two you should try something different, maybe a Blueberry mini coverall or a sweet Pea NB, but you don't NEED to.

Also what about a handful of fleece liners to use if baby needs non CD-safe cream or is sensitive to wetness?  You can cut up a thin fleece receiving blanket if you have an extra or get some cheap microfleece from the fabric store to cut up if you don't want to buy liners.  It won't fray.

Are your wetbags large enough to hold most of your NB diapers?   That way you can have one in the wash and the other for use while washing.  If not, you might want another large wetbag.  Also what do you plan to use in the diaper bag while out & about.  You might want a small wetbag or two for that.

  • It looks goods.

How big were your previous babies?

My two had tiny hips and I ended up needing xs covers the first 2-3 weeks.  Even the Rumparooz NB covers didn't fit at the start.

  • Thanks! I got the RaR for $30 total so I couldn't pass them up. I'll look for another cover or two.

My previous babies were 8 lbs 8oz and 21.5 inches, and 8lbs 13oz and 23 inches... I am not expecting a tiny baby....

My wet bags are varied in size, but I will add a couple to my list. I also have pail liners.

    Thanks for the liner suggestions!

Any favorite covers that might bridge a nb stash to an infant stash?

Rumparooz NB and Blueberry Mini Coveralls are good at bridging the gap.  Both are very adjustable.

Best Bottoms are also good for this, because they fit early on.  However, because of their smaller size they can be outgrown quicker than other covers.
