How is everyone doing? I have spread out the check ins to every two weeks...is that ok with everyone? I can go back to once a week if you want to. Have a great week.
I'm pretty much fine. There are times when I feel myself go downhill a little but, it's so mild that I guess it's just a bad mood. I was never much of a bad mood person before. Now they are a little different then what I used to get. All I know is that the feelings I'm getting now are nothing compared to before and I can handle them. I feel so much better that I consider myself 100%! Yay! Hope everyone else is there soon. It's been road!
Does anyone else take supplements and/or multivitamins that help with the PPD? Not sure if it's a placebo effect or what, but if I forget any of them for a few days I really feel like it has an effort on my mood.
I have been doing well and want to try weaning from my meds. Need to get a call in. Ready to turn over to a new phase. Finally in a better routine with baby girl so that's helped. I also am thinking of a sugar detox....I think my diet is not helping my moods, fatigue, brain fog, etc.. It's not a terrible diet just a lot of carbs and "hidden" sugar. Been reading a lot about it and think there is something to it. Ready to try some non medicine help for my next phase like diet changes and more exercise.
@deanna1313 I am not taking any supplements but curious what you're taking?
@smdukes I am taking my prenatal/breastfeeding vitamin still and I am also switching every other day between a b12 and magnesium.
I had a magnesium deficiency before and it was after stopping my acid reflux meds( some can cause this). Not only was I sickly, had horrible dizziness and was unable to drive, but I also had anxiety issues. fears I never had before, panic attacks, claustrophobia, etc. I found out about the magnesium issue and once I started building it back up most of the anxiety went away. It was also combined with a caffeine intolerance! Whole other story! Lol I sound like a freak! Haha! None of this was a bad as PPD, though.
Read up on them and talk to you dr about them. There are so many supplements that can be helpful for different symptoms. Worth a try right?!
I'm still having a hard time. I can't tell much of a difference with the new combo of meds. When the anxiety is under control, the depression gets to me, and vice versa. I'm just so overwhelmed, and I don't know what to do about it. Counseling doesn't really help. I wonder if it's bc my problem is more chemical than situational. I'm so over it. Meh.

@jenb_99 My PPD was definitely chemical and not situational (as per the psychologist). I wasn't on any meds, but I was constantly either really anxious or very depressed. I feel like if my anxiety was worse it distracted me from the depression and vice versa. Right when I thought I knew how I felt it switched up and it made me more uneasy not knowing what to expect. Time was all that really helped.
