XP:dropping E2 levels in early pregnancy

Hi ladies, I have not posted here in quite some time ( I took a bump break following my loss in June) but wanted to see if anyone had any insight into dropping e2 level in early pregnancy? Last week my e2 level was 900 something and yesterday it was 800. My RE office is having me repeat my E2 level again this week because of the drop. They said that the drop was not "significant" but want to make sure it does not keep dropping. I tried to find more info on this but nothing seems to fit my situation so I decided to post. Any info or experience would be greatly appreciated! TIA!

Re: XP:dropping E2 levels in early pregnancy

  • Every time I've done the antagonist protocol, my E2 seems to crash at the end of the 2ww even when I am pregnant. My RE has never been really concerned about it since there is no clear correlation between E2 and miscarriage as there is with progesterone. Are you taking oral estrogen? Maybe your RE will increase the dose a little? Congrats on your pregnancy, btw :)

  • Are you on Estrogen supplements? My e2 was never the same every time they took it and my RE never seemed concerned about it. I actually started decreasing the estrogen I was taking early on. Since I did a FET the medication I took was the only estrogen I was getting.
    Fucking bump!!!!
  • Yes I am on vaginal estrace(1mg twice per day). The nurse gave me no instructions to increase so I am still on the same dose. She did mention that they only check my E2following a FET but didn't elaborate anymore on it.

  • I had a big drop when I was about 5w.  They told me that fluctuations weren't unusual, especially if you were on meds.  But I went from about 1400 to 106, which was a huge drop.  They still calmed me by saying it wasn't as crucial as progesterone and hgc, and technically a lot of REs don't even check E2 after the first beta.  They switched up my E2 meds and I was back up to 2000 the next time.  Your drop wasn't very significant, so I think it's fine.  My RE said as long as it's above around 500, they don't worry much.
