Free nursing pillow promo code! :)

So I've been stressing out lately over the more "nice to have" items and when to buy them, if they're in my budget, etc. Luckily I was gifted some awesome promo codes for a few of those more luxury items.

I have one here for a free nursing pillow. All you have to pay is shipping and handling. A REALLY good deal! There are lots of cute patterns, colors, and even a minky option.

If it's anything like the seven slings or the nursing covers, or some of the other  items that seem to always have a promotion code for a "free" item, it's complete and utter BS. 

1.  This is not some promotion.  It's their marketing strategy.  They do not ever expect to sell anything at full price.  They expect everyone to use the free promo codes.

2.  It isn't free.  Usually "shipping and handling" is way more than it actually costs to ship the item.  4 years ago when I had my son, I looked into it and S&H for a seven sling was like $14 for ground postage.  For a 6oz piece of cloth.  I make slings, I know how much they cost to ship and it isn't $14.   The really cheap, badly made sling probably costs $4, if that, for them to make (likely it's less if they are using cheap overseas labor), maybe another $4 for shipping, so really, they would be making $6 on each.  But there's more!  If you get the wrong size (which is apparently very common), you have to pay quite a bit to get it exchanged.  So then they make even more money.

3.  Many of these companies have complaints about credit card theft.  Identity theft.  Selling names and addresses.  It's just another scam, using a cheap product as bait.  And it works.  I can't tell you how often I see people all excited because they found a promo code for a free item.  Be skeptical, research the companies.
