We had our appt yesterday and it was confirmed that our little one does in fact have spina bifida. We aren't sure of te severity of the defect yet but know it's low on the spine which is a positive. We are pursuing a surgical team out of Philadelphia who specializes in the surgery and care of babies with spina bifida and all thoughts a prayers are greatly appreciated as we go through this process.
I'll be thinking about you and your family! I'm a pediatric PT and I've worked with children with spina bifida who have done great. It's wonderful that your already seeking interventions.

Sending thoughts and prayers your way. Philadelphia has some of the top pediatric programs in the country, they are top notch. I hope they can give you hope and guidance.
Fingers crossed and positive thoughts it's a small defect! I've worked with a lot of infants with Spina bifida and most do extremely well after closure.
I wish the best for your family!
This has been my experience as well. Wishing you all the best and the best possible care!
A woman I know from my last BMB has a twin with SB. She is 2.5 years old and doing really great. Check out her blog where she talks a lot about raising a child with SB: https://erniebufflo.com
Thoughts and prayers to you! My cousin has spina bifida, and was told as a toddler she would never walk. Today she walks WITHOUT the use of her canes and with a barely there limp. Hoping your little ones diagnoses is very minor and if it isn't, that he/she overcomes the odds!
I'm sorry you're dealing with this difficult news. As PP have said, it's great that you're seeking intervention from such a talented team this early. Sending t&p to you and your family.
