I am in denial that I will not need one when we are in Vancouver for three weeks in Dec and Jan. Hopefully I won't freeze my ass off in sweaters and chunky thick scarves.

You might!!
Do you like puffy vest? Maybe grab one of those if you don't want a full winter coat. Old Navy has some in the maternity dept online.

I have to wear a heavy duty winter coat, I pretty much live in an igloo and dog sled to work. But I have a jacket that I bought on sale last year that is a L, and I still fit in it, when I no longer fit in it I will wear one of my husbands. I am to cheap to spend $200 on a jacket I will wear for two months, and I need a good jacket, its fucking cold out.
I bought one for my first pregnancy (same timeline, my first was born in early march), but gave it away shortly after. I will not be buying one this time. It was so expensive yet "cheap" and I felt like it was a waste of money for west coast Canada--note, I also don't do umbrellas in the rainiest climate ever, but that's a whole other story.
I would recommend borrowing a maternity jacket/larger regular jacket or like PP mentioned wear a men's jacket. Ask around with friends and family, maybe someone has something that would work for you:) I will be wearing my reg jackets unzipped/untied or using my husbands not super big one if it happens to snow for more than 10 mins this year lol!
I'm more of a lurker but saw this post and thought I'd chime in. I just bought one off Walmart.com for $25. Not the cutest or warmest coat I own, but for the 2 months of winter I'll need one for, it'll do and the price was right!
Luckily THIS Canadian barely needs a winter coat as it's very mild here on the south-west coast.
I bought an all-weather coat but I just went up a size so that I'd be able to wear the coat when I'm not pregnant too. I bought this one.
Right now it's HUGE!
That is what Im hoping for. I'll just wear one of my Dad's jackets if we go outside for longer than 15 minutes.
@GeekBeagle have you tried it yet? I was looking at another H&M jacket but I have no clue how warm it is or if it will be big enough in late pregnancy.
I have don't have access to a larger coat so I am looking to buy one. I figure I can resell it on CL once I am done having kids.
Love is like infinity: You can't have more or less infinity, and you can't compare two things to see if they're "equally infinite." Infinity just is, and that's the way I think love is, too.

@aggiebug I tried it on at the store when I bought it, but haven't actually worn it yet. It seems to be pretty warm and flares out at the bottom to allow for growth.
Isn't there a "hair-tie type" trick for coats like with jeans? I hate to spend the money on a coat I'm only gonna wear for a month or two. (I'm one of the cheapones that buys clearance coats)
@jennjilljoite - how did I not know about Pink Blush Maternity? Thanks for mentioning this site, just went out there and they have some really cute stuff!
