My daughter will e 3 months tomorrow. Does your child (or did your child at that age) fall asleep on his/her own for naps or did you have the rock, etc.? TIA
By 3m, both my LO's mostly fell asleep on their own. If they were overtired, I would rock them because they had a hard time settling.
With both I started testing the waters at around 10w by putting them down wide awake. If they fell asleep on their own, great; if they needed help, I helped them.
At that age my LO still needed to be held to nap. We started him in DC right around 3 months- he would nap in his crib at DC, but still needed to be held at home. By about 5 months he started napping in his crib at home as well. He seemed to be ready for that when our usual nap routine of walking and rocking him seemed more stimulating then soothing. So I changed to a short pre nap routine- put LO in his sleep sack, turn on the white noise, nurse him, quick song, then down for a nap. He fusses and talks to himself for a bit -sometimes up to half an hour- then falls asleep.
