CPW drove me crazy. In theory, it sounded like an okay idea. In practice, it made my eyes cross. I didn't post much yesterday because the board seemed full of them and I didn't think the topics were that interesting (sorry, lovelies).

my UO is that I really truly can't stand when people buy clothes for my daughter that are NMS or directed towards my tattoos. I do not want her wearing "my mommy's tattoos are better than yours" onesies. I think it's so extremely tacky.

I feel each one would have gotten more responses if they weren't all in the same day.
Maybe, but some were redundant. There's only so much to say about wrist watches versus jewelry, or loving high school versus the cliques you were in. I see two threads there, not four.

I don't like the Nightmare Before Christmas movie. I think it's creepy and it really bothers me when little kids say they like it and are dressed up or have stuff from the movie.
I'm not against having a medicated birth. I guess some people will feel sorry for my children?
ETA: words confuse me...
Me neither-and to be perfectly honest I don't give two shits what kind of delivery a person chooses-if scheduled c-section is for you, you do it! I don't get people who get all wrapped up in what others choose-their choice! It pissed me off a few weeks ago in the scheduled c-section thread that someone felt the need to question people's choices as to why they would have a scheduled c-section. Who cares if mama and baby are healthy?
So I guess my UO is I hate it when people who have never had an experience and are fairly limited in their knowledge of every hospital system in the world spout off what has been told to them as the end all be all. Oh and they aren't a medical professional. Man that pisses me off. /rant over (and I swear I am not a mad person, this stuff just gets my goat)
I wouldn't want to be labeled as snarky. I'm not offended by realness on the Internet but I'm also not going to be the one to hurt an innocent, or even stupid, newb's feelings. I'd rather be called big boned or impatient or moody.
And chocolate, wtf is the big deal its not that good.
AND I hate when people complain about how broke they are but yet they still have cell phones and internet and TV and/or eat out. That shit costs like $400+ a month here AT LEAST ( I have bare minimum and its over 400), obv you aren't to broke to feed your kid if you can afford that shit. I might be biased, but I grew up poor. We didn't have none of that crap so when one of my friends talks about how they might have to go bankrupt and is still eating out and has all the WANTS (not needs! TV is not a need!) I find it really really hard to find my sympathetic bone.
McDonalds haters can kiss my ass... I'll take that processed "meat" dollar menu any day. And dont get me started on the fries. They live next to my heart. (Probably literally stuck in an artery)
I am not ashamed.

And I don't like when people say they are "toughing it out" and a "real woman" by choosing an unmedicated birth (ahem, SIL). Just because I am probably choosing an epidural doesn't make me weak or am any less of a woman. The science and drugs are available, so I will use them.
I don't like when people say to me, regarding my natural birth/no drugs for L&D plan, a sarcastic "gooooooood luck with that!" accompanied with an eye roll. I'm not going to quarrel about birth plans with anyone online or in person, as babies are born happy and healthy no matter which route mom choses, but to dismiss me right off the bat is not nice. That's like if I told someone I signed up to run a marathon, and they looked at me and said "lol yeah right".
I hate when there's an abbreiviation (UO) and I don't really know what it is and I'm too lazy to go look it up and I'm not dumb enough to ask the question and get flamed by people...so I just need to read along until the little light bulb in my head goes off.
I hate it even more when I finally figure one out and then two days later I'm going through the same cycle for the same abbreviation. (Thanks prego brain, you suck sometimes!)

My own mother shamed for this when she found out that I got the epidural. I sat for 6 hours having 8 - 12 contractions an hour for a minute+ at a time. Getting an epidural is not shameful. It took me almost a year to realize that God put intelligent people on this planet who could find a way to ease my pain at the most uncomfortable point in my life so it's perfectly fine to need it or not it and that choice is my judgement call.

@holachicaaa@kkleigh@nbad311 Not sure about you guys but I feel like the judgiest people are the ones who haven't even had kids. It seems like all my friends without kids have an opinion or anecdote to offer about this friend who had an unmedicated birth, or that friend who encapsulated their placenta and how great it was. My mom friends seem to be keeping it way more real, since they've been through it and get that every woman's experience is different.
That's not a UO, I just wanted to chime in. Will come back with a real UO when I think of one.
@jaztastic - you're fiesty, but I've seen your softer side...so I could take it! Thanks for the sympathy explaination though! (I still hadn't quite nailed it down!)
My UO is neurotic sterilizing of all things baby. Look, if you want to keep your baby in a bubble and run around disinfecting every paci that hits the floor, that's on you... But if it happened at my house it's going right back in (though I'm not super pro-paci.. But you get the idea).
My kid will eat dirt, roll in the grass, probably seal promises with a spit shake with their best friend.. And that's fine if not encouraged by me. I'm like the anti-anti-vacc-er... Give my kid all the shots so they can combat all the shit they will come into contact with by exploring their world!
"I let him become the smelly kid in class?!" (No gif found..)
I don't like the Nightmare Before Christmas movie. I think it's creepy and it really bothers me when little kids say they like it and are dressed up or have stuff from the movie.
I have a soft spot in my heart for Pitbull. I don't know why, I just love that he rhymed "Kodak" with "Kodak".
Hahahaha. DH and I can't seem to dislike him either. We both love poking fun at his "dancing", which is more like he throws his hand/fist in the air and does some arm seizures. And you can't help but respect his ability to finagle his way into every top 40 song... he is totally laughing all the way to the bank.
OK I've got my UO. I like Christmas/holiday music. Just put on my holiday Pandora station for the first time this season... I think I held out like two weeks longer than last year! This may be more of a FFFC but whatevs.
I think this board is to judgy about placenta encapsulation. I'm not doing it, but I think it's a very acceptable choice and don't think it should be side eyed.
A. I'm not judgey, birth in the manner that is best for you.
B. I am extremely proud of my un-medicated birth because it was a lot of hard work and took a lot of preparation. Most births are a lot of hard work and take preparation, so we should all feel proud.
C. I don't usually talk about my experience unless specifically asked.
My UO: I don't like when people say I was "lucky" to have been able to birth with no meds. I understand that some women try and can't for one reason or another, but I don't like the term "lucky." It makes it sound like I did zero preparation and just sneezed and a baby came out.
Agreed on all of this!
Except, I do feel as though I was a little lucky to get the unmedicated birth I was hoping for. So many circumstances worked together to allow me to get through it without asking for meds. I know a good deal of luck played into it. BUT if people snarkingly told me I was "lucky" it would probably irk me too.
On the subject of judgey-ness. Everyone is getting a baby at the end of the day (or days LOL). I could give two shits how everyone delivers their baby. Mama knows best.
This is just another case of STOP ALL THE JUDGING DAMNIT. And I know all you ladies feel the same way too.
My UO: I love my dogs like my children, and let them around my son...but I get really bothered by people who let their dogs lick their newborns/baby's face. My dogs are awesome, but they lick their balls and butt....and there is just no way I would ever let them lick all over my babies...I don't care how cute the picture might be. (I saw a Buzzfeed link on FB today that said "the most adorable dog and baby photos you will ever see!" It was not adorable...it grossed me out!)

YES! I think it's so gross when people let their dogs lick them (not even to mention s baby). I love my dog, but I see where that tongue goes.
I just came to say that @jennjilljoilte has got to be a catfish. Too many dislikes for one person. You are forever fake to me.
Who the hell doesnt like Oreos... ugh

I hate mass text messages. I know they're easy to spread news and I'll use them for that, but only respond to all if it's made up of people that all know each other and the responses are meant to be seen by everyone. Thanks for the several 4am text messages this morning, random person I don't know, congratulating a friend we happen to share!
I don't like McDonald's or Oreo's, unless I'm pregnant and then Oreo's belong in milkshakes.
At least one other person here is with you -- I don't like Oreos either! I LOVE the filling, and frankly, would be happy to just eat that. But I'm just not big on chocolate-flavored cookies. If something is chocolate, I'd like it to just be creamy, melty chocolate. Or some other form, like chocolate pudding, cocoa, mochas, ice cream, etc.
Oh, I think I've hit on it: I don't like DRY chocolate. Any brownie that's not just basically fudge is not my thing either.
--- Jan Siggy Challenge: What You're Looking Forward to Most After Baby Arrives ---
My UO: I like staying home on a Saturday night. That doesn't mean I'm not all about date night with DH, but at least once a weekend I love being home and doing nothing - socializing is exhausting!!
@foxslaw -- did you see when Pitbull was a guest judge on dancing with the stars? Maybe it's a FFFC that I love that show, but a bunch of them did dances to his songs and he kept complimenting them on their song choice.
Coming from the pregnant lady that just sat in the drive thru waiting to order.... My UO is drive thrus should have $$ limits. I want 1pc of chicken and and a drink, but I'm stick waiting for 15 minutes because the jerk in front of me has a $30 family order, and must confirm all items with each individual in the mini van.
I'm pretty sure I'll change my mind on thus, but right now I'm pissed.
