My DS had an older version of the walker in Lala's second link above and he loved that thing! We still have it and I can't wait to see DD pushing it around!
We have one similar to the second one in Lala's post too. DS2 loved it. We really aren't close to being ready to use it but we have it when he's ready.
We will get the 2nd type for Christmas. The first she has now and cruises all over the kitchen while I cook and clean. I just try not to have her in it too much each day.
I have been reading reviews of wood walkers and they all have a few from parents who have had an injured child by the walkers. I was looking at the vetch sit to stand and didn't see injuries in reviews, but didn't read them all. Are the plastic ones safer?
We got LO the sit-in style walker by Joovy and she absolutely loves it - somehow she'll sit in that as long as you will allow her (affording me luxuries like making dinner or folding laundry ) but she'll only stay in her high chair as long as it takes to eat, then she's squirming and squawking to be taken out.
Her Ped said it was ok to do the sit-in style walker for short periods (20 min or less) so we let her do that ~2x a day.
We have the vtech sit-to-stand walker and DS loves it. Right now he mostly sits in front of it and plays with the buttons, but he's also using it to pull himself up on occasion.
We have a "Cosco" brand one that we got at Target. My sister had the same one for her son. My LO seems to enjoy it. She is always watched when she is in it. Our house is all on one floor anyhow.

We have the vetch one and both of my older kids loved it. In fact, when DS was ready for it, it was like a new toy for DD1 to rediscover. It was fun watching them enjoy it together.
