Good evening ladies... I think this is the board that will best suit me for a while.
My name is Kate, and I am a 32 year old from upstate NY. I have a four year old that I am blessed to parent.
I had a little boy at full term on 02/17/14, who died 31 minutes after birth completely unexpectedly, so my family and I continue to deal with that loss.
We were cleared to try again in September, did become pregnant, but have since found out that pregnancy is not viable.
I've taken misoprostol for the past 2 nights... it doesn't seem to be working the way I have read to expect, but as this is my first early loss, I'm not sure if this is just how my body reacts. I go for an ultrasound tomorrow afternoon to get a better idea of what my body is doing.
Hoping to learn a lot from all of you, as I start to navigate this terrifying new sort of trying to get pregnant...

Re: Introduction (Living child mentioned)
The misoprostol took 3 doses to work for me with one of my losses. It's good you will be getting a scan to see what is happening.

my chart
My ultrasound went well today (as far as a miscarriage ultrasound can go).
They saw a little bit of fluid still being retained, but said the tissue has been passed, and confirmed I will not need a d&c. The doc said I may have just had a high pain tolerance, and the miso did it's job without me being bothered by it the way some are.
I will do bloodwork in 2 weeks to confirm my HCG has zeroed itself down, and we are cleared to try again when I feel ready.
Thank you for all the positive thoughts... they appear to have done me a world of good!
