Ovulation Kits

Quick question - do any of you use an ovulation kit like Clear Blue? What are some of the pros and cons of using these? Do you find it to be helpful or more stressful overall?

I use the Wondfo's from Amazon because you can get a shitload of them for very little money and I get obsessed with peeing on things around my O time. Since they are cheap I don't feel bad doing like 2-3 per day during my fertile window. You do have to interpret the lines though, and sometime it's hard to tell if it's a true positive. This cycle I got 3 days of a pretty dark second line, so then I just kind of had to decide for myself if they were + or - I think the OPKs can make you a little crazy but I personally like them because I am a control freak and like to think they give me some idea of what my body is doing.

If you're just starting with OPKs, you may want to go the wondfo route if you want to keep costs down.  I've always had good luck with them but keep a few Clearblue digis on hand if I'm questionable when they get really close.

I second @greeneyes842. I've used the Clearblue regular and advanced, and the advanced were awful. They have a blinky smiley that stays on the reader for 2 days, preventing you from re-testing. I like the digital bc I tend to second guess the Wondfos (and myself).

awkward confession - as I'm still learning my body I use the "internet cheapies" and I hold onto all of them so that I can better understand the progression. I will wipe them off, tape them to a piece of paper, and label the time/cycle day consecutively. It helped me a lot in the early days of charting/using opks to understand when and to what extent LH was present for me. I toss them after O is confirmed either by a super obvious positive (doesn't always happen) or by my temps.

Walmart sells the "Answer" brand that works like the Wondfos (and you don't have to pay shipping).  They come out to about $1 per test, but the ones at my Walmart have an $8 mail in rebate attached.
