WTF Appointment Tonight - what to expect

*Loss Mentioned*

Hi Ladies,

I have my WTF appt with the RE tonight.  I did my first IVF in Sept. and got a BFP.  6 week sono showed no HB.  What should I ask?  I want to go in with a list of questions - i feel like I'm going to get emotional walking back in there.  TIA!

Re: WTF Appointment Tonight - what to expect

  • So sorry for your loss. I think the questions depend on your situation and goals. Do you have frosties? Are you planning another fresh transfer or FET? I would ask about whether any changes to protocol/supplements/lifestyle are recommended, how long to wait before attempting another cycle, what this means for your prognosis/likelihood of success, etc. Good luck.

Official diagnosis: Unexplained IF. I am 32. I have low ovarian reserve (low AMH), and poor egg quality. I've also been diagnosed with mild glandular developmental arrest (lining problems, detected with EFT).

We are using open ID donor sperm. IUIs #1-7=BFN. IVF September 2014 antagonist protocol, 8R,5M,3F, 5 day transfer of 1 morula = BFN. IVF#2 planned for January 2015 (antagonist protocol + HGH).

All of this :) I just wanted to add that it's OK to be emotional. I bawled my eyes out at mine, and my RE keeps a huge drawer full of Kleenex boxes for this exact purpose. I hope it goes well for you <3

  • Thanks ladies! We have one frosty - so next will be a FET.
  • My WTF appointments have always been a recap of the cycle and what we can change to improve the next, I've never had any frosties though. Be sure to ask about FET protocols and what you can expect from an FET cycle. Don't feel bad about bein emotional. I am pretty sure I cried at every single one of my WTF appointments.

  • Thanks for all the replies. He wants me to do some bloodwork to see where I'm at in my cycle since i haven't gotten a period after the m/c yet. I can do the transfer as early as Thanksgiving time but I don't know if I mentally have that in me right now. I really have to think about it. We have one healthy frosty left - it's a boy!
