Need a gift for 1 year old!

Any suggestions? We are going to a bday party on Sat and I need to find something. The mom didn't give me much to go on, just that he's sick of his baby toys.

Any type of ride on or push toy, clothes or shoes (especially since this is around the time they start walking). That's all I can think of at the moment.

I asked my friend what she wanted for her daughter's 1st birthday (it was two weeks ago) and she said something boring but practical that they needed was a hooded towel because all their hooded towels were for infants, not kids. So, I bought her a hooded towel from Pottery Barn and got it monogrammed and she said it was the best gift. Something practical but still special. I'm going to get that for my other friends' kids since it seemed to be such a big hit.

Walk/ride toys (those ones they walk behind), elefun is cheap and DS loved it, sippies and utensils and plates, imitation toys (dolls, pretend kitchen stuff, tools), blocks, clothes and shoes, gc to where they get diapers, booster seat for table, shape sorter, ball pit (plastic balls, stick them in a kiddie pool or pnp), water table

I got my niece mega blocks last year for her birthday and Christmas. She loved them, and its something she can play with gor a while.
