Pregnant after a Loss

Intro

Hello everyone,

Just wanted to give a quick intro. In October of last year DS was born via C-section, I had a completely healthy and happy pregnancy. Fast forward to June of this year, DH and I find out I am pregnant and are ecstatic even though it happened a little sooner than we have planned. Went to my first prenatal appointment and the ultrasound showed a very strong and healthy heartbeat with baby measuring at about 6 weeks. I made the mistake of announcing to everyone that we were expecting. I had some spotting for about a week and a half and finally went in to see what was up. US confirmed that we had lost the baby not too long after the first ultrasound. My body miscarried naturally the next day and it was the hardest thing I have ever done. DH and I weren't necessarily trying this cycle but we weren't preventing either. I got my positive test this morning and immediately called the Dr. I have an appointment tomorrow morning because I am RH negative and I did not get my rhogam shot when I miscarried. DH and I have both agreed to wait a much longer time before we announce this one.

I look forward to getting to know everyone!

Congratulations! I hope your Rh sensitization test comes back okay. I'm also Rh negative, and my history is complex and I wasn't sure I had gotten all the tests I needed either. The doctors told me that at that early stage it's unlikely to be sensitizing. Thinking positive thoughts for you!

Congrats! Sorry about your loss. I will say that I don't think you made a "mistake" by telling people early. There's no right time. Hope this pregnancy proves to be a boring 9 months and that your Rh results look great!
