ttc

Im not ttc yet but will probably start ttc next september. I have my annual exam in august and I will get my iud out while im there already. I am actually excited to be pregnant again, which I dont understand because I was sick almost my entire pregnancy. Im just curious when others will start ttc. Maybe some of us will end up on the same board next time!

@becole42‌ we conceived the first try both times. But the first time I had to use clomid since I didn't ovulate on my own due to pcos. The second time I didn't need clomid because pregnancy apparently made me ovulate (after my pp periods returned I actually ovulated...and actually had periods).

  • We are definitely NTNP right now. I still haven't had a period and haven't been temping so if we're lucky I will just get pregnant again before my periods return. It took us 11 months to get pregnant with baby girl. I had a fairly easy pregnancy despite the morning sickness and baby girl has not been a deterrent for more babies.

    Isabella & Julian & and now #3!
  • I wouldn't say we're trying, but we're not being careful at all. I'm still breastfeeding and haven't had my period yet. Im not temping or anything. Our feeling is that if I found out I was pregnant tomorrow, we'd be thrilled. It took us a long time to have DD and I was on Clomid when she was conceived. Call me crazy, but after all that I'd love to have a "whoops" baby.

Most likely we'll wait to actively TTC until DD turns one or is weaned and my cycle returns.

  • @becole42‌ We started trying for #2 when DD1 was 8 months old, and I got my BFP on her 1st bday. It took us 6 months to get pregnant the first time.

Our first two are 19.5 months apart. I think we will start TTC again next fall at the very earliest, so DD2 and #3 would be at least 2 years apart, but we may wait longer. If I could totally plan it, I would like to have #3 in October 2016 so DD2 would be 2.5 and DD1 would be 4. But I know life rarely works out as planned.

  • I'd like to start when DD is 10-11 months old.  Still trying to convince DH about that time line tho.
  • My sister got pregnant with #1 in 2 months and #2 took about 8 months. I started ttc DD in july last year and then in august we were ntnp and it happened.
  • I want to start ttc now but I want DD to be a little more independent before having a newborn and possibly ms for another 25 weeks
  • Probably after she is over a year. I will get off my bc after her bday and let my body regulate on it's own. Then start

    It's a BOY

This is us. Ideally we would wait longer but I'm already 33, will be 34 just before DD turns 1. Took 13 months to get her but who knows what will happen this time. We will likely start ttc after she turns one. I'd love to have 3 kids so hoping for 2 close together with the option of getting one more in there before I get too old

I'm 29, DH is 30. Is that young? I feel so old these days...

We're thinking next fall. It would be nice to have a 2 year age difference. It took us 13 months the first time so I'm not sure how things will go, but I need to work at least another year anyway if I want mat leave benefits again so we've got the time.

  • I think this is probably going to be it for us. Our sons are 20 months apart. No way am I shooting for 3 u 3 or 3 u 4. And dh is almost 40 and I am 34...So it will probably be it.

  • At least after Christmas, hopefully around spring. I think, haha.
  • @zolten I agree. Sometimes im excited to be pregnant and have a little newborn but I also remember how miserable I was during pregnancy. It helps though that I will probably have a rcs so i can plan better and I will know what to expect with everything.
  • NTNP but if DH has it his way I would be KU right now. It took a year to have DD. I've already had a False BFP and that scared the living hell out of me. We will see what happens. An amazing opportunity just opened up at work, I would like to apply for it but DD would have to go to day care. I'm currently able to work from home or take her in with me. I'm weighing my options.

This is me exactly. Oh, also hoping to lose the 17lbs hanging around before I get KUd.
  • My husband is 36 so we won't be able to wait too long. He says he's running out of energy and that he's practically 40...um no you're not! I think he's just wanting to reinforce his one and done vote. I am hoping he changes his mind after she's a year old. If we do have another she'll probably be 2 or a little older. It already seems like he's coming around now that she's not grumpy all the time.

  • We are done with two. Between our ages (37, I'll be 38 on Saturday), finances, DSs special needs, the emotional rollercoaster of m/c and TTCAL, and that third tri kicks my ass (Pre-E with DS, GD with DD)...we're done.

FWIW, we were NTNP once DS turned 4 months (I was 35). Cycle returned at 8m pp and I was pg days after he turned 1. That pregnancy ended in a m/c (my second, first was before DS) and then it took about 9 months to get pg with DD...which surprised me bc the other three pg's happened so quickly. Our kids are about 2y7m apart rather than the 2u2 we thought we'd have. The age gap works for us, though DS's 3 year tantrums are pretty epic lately.

  • I wish I had some sort of fence to sit on with TFAS.

I can't figure out if I'm one and done or not. I'm envious that some of you just know ...
  • We are old too, haha!! But don't feel like it!
  • Ok not sure why the rest of my response didn't post! We are 38 and just had this conversation the other day. Thinking of trying for #2 in May, but it still feels so overwhelming! But that could be because LO is still a horrible sleeper!
  • I'm 30, DH is 33, we were originally going to start trying spring 2015 but I just accepted a new role at my firm (starting Monday!) so I think we will push back to fall 2015 to give me closer to 18 months in this new role before the next mat leave. Then we'll have 3 and 4 closer together.
  • NTNP but still BFing (including lots at night) and no cycle yet. I'll be 40 in 2 months and it took 16 months and 2 m/cs to get PG with DD and we don't really want her to be an only. So can't wait too long. Midwife said wait at least 8 months better a year but just as a general rule not due to any particular issues. But 8 months is coming up soon and anyway unless DD suddenly starts sleeping way more chances of a BFP before or even near then seem slim between BFing probably still preventing ovulation an also lack of time and energy to dtd much these days. But when/if I turn up with a BFP will be thrilled and praying for it to stick . I was fortunate to have an easy pregnancy and even birth so no trauma there that needs to be forgotten first but hypothetical little brother or sister better be a bit (lot!) less high needs than this one. And my work/commute situation will need to change. But I have enough sick days still for another mat. leave so would rather not try to switch jobs/districts until after #2.

  • The hubs says we are pretty much done but I want another one. So I'm hoping to start trying next year after Lo turns a year old. I would prefer if they were at least 2 years apart in age, thats always been the idea for me.

However the hubs feels like since he is turning 33 in December he is getting to old. I will be 30 *shudders* in Feb, guess I'm just gonna have to kick him in the knee caps.

Plus I want to lose a lot of this weight so hopefully I won't have so many complications during pregnancy. -fingers crossed- So far, those cupcakes look good. *sigh*

  • I started to have the itch as soon as DD started being less newborn and started having more of a personality. She is #1 for us and we want 3. I'm 34 and want to be done having babies by the time I'm 40. We'll probably start trying in the spring. Yikes.
  • We are one and done. We were leaning that way before LO but now we're sure. DH has some mental health issues that were exacerbated by the birth of LO and neither one of us wants to go through that again. Plus it just feels right. I also can't imagine having a toddler and a newborn. And we're old!
    Pregnancy Ticker
  • I loved being pregnant and we are incredibly lucky and got a very easy going baby. For those reasons, I would love to have another ASAP. But DH wants to wait, and logistically it makes sense. 3-4 years in between kids would be ideal. I'm also a bit nervous because I had some complications at the end of my pregnancy. My pre-e was very mild and everything turned out fine but I'm afraid that things could be worse next time. But other than that, the prospect of trying for another is very exciting! Good luck to all of you ladies :-).
  • We're planning to really start ttc around Febuary or March. DS was conceived when we were NTNP, but I hadn't been on anything for working on 3 years. Who knows how long it will take this time. Hopefully if we actually try it won't take too long. We're wanting each of our kids to be 1.5-2.5 years apart.

  • I'm working on grad school applications to start a 3 year part time program, so that would put me a few years out, and by that time I'd be ama (which is what it is). DH has expressed interest in being one and done. I guess we will re-assess in a few years. I'm an only child and it's not the end of the world, but I would like 2.

  • We were either going to be 2U2 or 3U3. No way did I want to be pregnant again so soon with #3. So we're 2U2 and done forever. Per doctor's rec we started TTC DD2 when DD1 was 9months old. Got KU on first cycle both times.

  • Everything came down to science and scheduling just to have DS. It was tedious, so I'm not sure I'd want to do it all again. If it happens on its own, then we'd be happy.

  • We are hoping to get pregnant again next year. I want them really close together so we are trying now but if nothing happens then we will do a FET next year.
  • I would love to do it all over again. I had a great pregnancy and delivery and the sweetest baby...but I don't want the end result of 2 kids. I also don't want to be pregnant with a LO to take care of. Basically I want to relive a first pregnancy over and over :)

  • So before I got pregnant with DD I always planned on starting to ttc when first child turned 1. Then during pregnancy I decided I didnt want to be pregnant that soon so I said next fall we would ttc. Then DD was born and cried ALL THE TIME and I decided there may not be a second child. Now I have decided to start ttc in May and im excited :) DD is an easy baby now so I think thats a big part if my decision.
