Bed rest is looking likely -Cervix shortening too fast.

I knew it always a possibility and of course I will do anything possible to keep these babies cooking. 

Went for my 26 week scan at MFM and babies look awesome and weigh 2.7lbs each which is like 70th percentile.  So very happy about that.  My cervix on the other hand went from 3.8 to 2.7 in 3 weeks and had some slight funneling.  MFM said normally wouldn't be too concerned with the 2.7 but the rate it was shortening is concerning.  He is giving me 10 days to really take it really easy then will remeasure end of next week.  If it goes down anymore he will put me on bed rest and take me out of work.  I was planning on working till 30 weeks so it isn't the end of the world just a bit nervous.  It's disheartening to be told 3 weeks ago your cervix looks awesome to probbable bed rest.   I was just beginning to feel more confident in this pregnancy then BAM!  But I guess that is how twin pregnancy goes   Praying resting up the next ten days works!

Sorry.  It is hard news to hear.  That's the way it happens - super fast - one day you are great, the next everything changes!

Hopefully you will not need it!  Drink plenty of Vitamin Water and feet up!

Argh! So sorry that this is happening. I was in a similar boat. My cervix went down to 1cm at 29 weeks when I was put on hospital bed rest (I was also having contractions). It had been at 2 the week before. They weren't sure if the contractions were causing the cervix to thin or what. Take it easy! You can do this!

Ugh, I'm sorry to hear that.  I hope the next 10 days of rest go a long way and your cervix stabilizes.  On the plus side, sounds like the babies are doing really well, so happy to hear that!

Thanks ladies had my OB appointment this morning and my she calmed me down a bit.  My cervix is still really high and very much closed so she isn't too concerned but said I need to slow down.  She said if MFM doesn't recommend bedrest next week it will happen sometime in November most likely so just prepare and relax about it.  She reminded me that home rest is way preferable to hospital bedrest and that yes the babies are looking awesome so I need to be grateful for that and eat up and rest.     Hopefully this is my last freak out

thanks ladies!  I find out Thursday and I have made my peace with it now.. I am going to just assume I will be taken off work this week and wrapping up at the office so I can just let it all go an focus on the babies!
