Not much going on in my world but a ton of nausea. It's also already a very finicky eater. This baby dislikes: water, chicken, eggs, spicy foods, some dairy products, anything with a texture, most pork products, and fish.
So yeah...my selection of foods are limited. It DOES however love ice cream and anything tomato!
We are not allowed to eat at our desks at work, but I don't care anymore. I keep a bag of Cheez-It crackers at my desk, and graze when I feel the worst.
I am also having troubles sleeping. I just can't get comfortable!
Regardless of all of that, I'm very happy the baby is growing and is healthy. That's all that matters.
Hi Ladies:
I have been radio silent for the past 3 weeks, but am finally thrilled to report that we welcomed our beautiful baby boy Liam in October 4th, at 35 weeks and 2 days gestation. He weighed 6 lbs and was 19 inches long. My water broke at exactly 35 weeks (while I was standing in the baby's room complaining about all the stuff we had to do). To say I was flipping out is an understatement. After a failed trial of labor (I am one of the 10% of women who have their water break and then nothing happens), I turned down pitocin and went for the repeat c-section, which was the best decision I could have made. Recovery has been a breeze compared to my older son's birth, and was much easier on Liam too. Turns out my baby had a circumvallate placenta and a short cord (whenever I was contracting immediately after my water broke, Liam's heart rate dropped into the 80s)--this could be the reason why my water broke early and also it could have meant that I would have faced an emergency c-section had I taken the pitocin and really tried to labor past the 48 hours. Liam spent almost 3 weeks in the NICU (he was pokey with his feelings) and came home this past Friday. His big brother Jack has been great with him (he calls him "Baby Yee-am")--it makes me all verklempt to see the two of them together.
The NICU was a life-changing experience, and made me realize how much of a blessing and true miracle that a healthy baby is. So many stories, good and terrifying, are told in the NICU, and with only curtains and half walls separating you from other babies, you hear them all. At 43, I'm counting my blessings and am looking forward to many new adventures with my boys. And taking a lot of vitamins because my ass is TIRED.
I will still be checking in with this board (on the grad check ins) even though The Uterus Shoppe is officially closed for business and am rooting for all you ladies, as always.

AFM - not much new to report - almost at my 3rd tri (I think it begins at week 28?)... currently 27+3. Getting bigger (if that is even possible) and more uncomfortable... but that is all part of this I guess. The fun thing now is watching the little one make my belly 'jump' when it moves
Hope you are all doing well - hope to see you on PG>35 soon!
@Processofbecoming Congratulations on your baby boy. DD was in the NICU for 3 weeks too. One blessing for us, when we took her home, she was already on a bit of schedule, so we hit sleeping through the night fairly quickly and she can sleep through just about anything. Hopefully you guys have the same luck and you will be able to get some rest.
@ProcessofBecoming congrats lady!! I love the name Liam. Please don't be a stranger but not sure where you would post...Parenting after 35? Happy to hear that Jack loves his little brother Take care!!
@Hooligans4 I am so going to try to go line dancing this Friday!! Remember how I use to go every other Fri? Lol. Happy to hear about your luck with YH Hope all is well with your daughter!

My babies are doing awesome at my scan this week. They are really packing on the weight and weigh about 2.7lbs each. My cervix is shortening a little faster than it should but I am not in the danger zone yet just on restricted activities. I will be rechecked next week and if it shortens anymore I will have to quit work and go on bedrest. I was planning on staying till Thanksgiving but I will do whatever needs ot be done to cook these babies as long as possible. I freaked out Monday when I was told about probable bedrest but now I am trying to have a positive attitude about it! Atleast I will have all the Holiday movies on Tv to watch!

Hey everyone!! I'm freaking halfway!! Can't believe it, very excited FTM2B here!! Had my anatomy scan last week @ 19wks and everything was great, tech said he was measuring at 20 weeks and was 13oz, but he was squirming around so much they couldn't get a clear image of the heart, so I need to go back on Nov. 13th, which is fine with me, I'll get to see him again. They're not really concerned, they just would like a better look. Today was my 20wk OB appt and all is well there too, thank goodness. I've been feeling pretty good the past few days, so trying to take advantage and get the nursery ready.

Congrats @ProcessofBecoming on your baby boy! So glad big brother loves him to bits! Just had my 28 week checkup Monday. Checked iron and for GD .. Both numbers were great! Yay! Little girl is smaller than big brother at this stage but happy with growth:) my cervix is holding up..thank you cerclage! Lol..I have next appt Nov 17th at 31 weeks than every two weeks! Can't believe in 3 rd trimester..good luck to all you ladies!
Im 7 weeks and the symptoms have hit hard and strong. Food aversions (food altogether sometimes)
Nausea, some vomiting but not much thank goodness....i don't think i could handle much of that because of how sore my tummy is for days after. Im super fatigued.
My parents and the family we have told are thrilled beyond words.
My mother in law has started walking with me every day (with the exception of a few really bad days where i just couldn't hang.
Hubby is a worry wart....BIG TIME. Its sort of cute and sort of annoying.
I like to tell him all the week by week things i read in What to Expect and he hates it. lol. He doesn't want to be too attached cause he is scared. but he is happy i feel like crap because he thinks that means all the hormones are still there which means baby is there. He likes to try and force food down me when i don't want to eat and is just all around annoying and adorable. smh.....its his first baby so yeah....he is a stress case.
Im still trying to decide on a Dr. I will pick one this week and hopefully get seen asap!
