Last night was our first freeze warning. It's 33 degrees outside right now. And our heat isn't working. I was wondering why I was so cold all night! Waiting for DH to get up so he can take a look at it. I am praying it's an easy (inexpensive!) fix.
My biggest pet peeve with DH is when he opens his dresser drawers when I'm still sleeping and just drops the little handle thing. It is so loud. Our next bedroom set will have knobs only.
@ramfan05 I hope it's a quick, easy, and inexpensive fix! Our heat went out in march last year with a new baby. It sucks..if it's not, I'd get a space heater to keep on while you are home!
njb750, when I was pregnant with DS, our AC went out. It was July or August, and I was huge (DS was born in Sept). I told DH I didn't care how much it cost, just get it fixed asap! I hate it when things like that happen, and always at the worst time!
Ugh @ramfan05 that sucks. It happened to us more than once last winter. One time one of the companies was going to let us go 36 additional hours without heat -- during a polar vortex. Another company, we left a message in the MOTN and they said they had a one hour call back window. I am still waiting for that call. I hope your repair goes a little more smoothly!

so im up and out of bed since 445. but i was up in bed since 330. i had a total breakdown just crying trying to rock LO to sleep. last night was the worst. he went down at 8, woke up around 1230 and would not fall back asleep until 1. he just wanted to comfort nurse and i would try to put him down and hed wake up the second his back hit the mattress. then again at 2. then again at 330. and at 330 i attempted 4 times to put him down and after that time he just stayed up.
he will go to sleep in his crib no problem!c why wont he just stay there through the night? its like once midnight hits he thinks "gee mom is sleeping so good, lets remind her im here!"
My toddler actually slept through the night last night! We got her a white noise machine that won't turn off, and it seems to be drowning out the train noise pretty well. The damn thing ran out of batteries at 5:30 this morning, though...right before the train. At least she went back to sleep after that.
Also, I forgot to tell you guys about the awesome kid at Boo at the Zoo. There was a family walking around and big sister was dressed as Elsa. Her little brother was wearing an Anna dress, a Ninja Turtle mask, and carrying a Thomas the Train bag. Dad said he couldn't decide, so he went as all of them. I wanted to hug him.
Please tell me I'm not the only one who has to fight a full on wrestling match to get also dressed every time
Right there with you sister. ESPECIALLY pajamas... ( It's like the end of the world or something
This. It often takes two grown ups.
At night we lay the sleep suit out on the bed open, then whoever is holding madam starts the countdown from 3 and then it's a race to get her into said sleep suit before she realises what's happening! It's not like this doesn't happen every night LO - you should be aware that Mummy and Daddy win every night, so just GIVE UP and let us dress you!
LO is nine months old today! It's also inside/outside day (is there a cuter name for this?). I am waiting for her to wake up from her morning swing nap so we can do her photo shoot and get her to school. I also want to take a picture of the two of us for I/OD (or cuter name) and I don't like my outfit today but it's comfortable so I guess I'm going to go with it.
How did I not know we have baby birthday twinsies?!?? @elf828.
I can return it less the cost of shipping, or I can try to resell it on eBay or Craigslist and recoup my loss. (My winning bid was $65, which includes shipping.) Or I can contact the seller and tell them I'll plan to return it anyway, so don't send it (but that seems like a jerk move).
I would resell it on the facebook swap pages. Ergos always go quickly, especially priced under $80. Babywearing on a Budget would sell it quickly. (You would need paypal and to ship it out once sold.)
"Elsie Irene was born sleeping at 35w 6d on December 8, 2012. Mommy and Daddy miss you sweet girl."
I totally forgot I had to pick up bagels for work today so I had to go to Panera and Safeway in my pajamas this morning. Then it occurred to me on the way to work that I should have bought baby food at Safeway when I was there. Apparently, I want to show my cute Scottie dog pjs to the world today.
@Bookshelves That's the Ergo I have, I love it. I'd contact the seller first since that would be easiest. The worst he/she can say is no. Then, I'd try selling on Craigslist so you don't have to go through the hassle of shipping. But that's just me, I hate packaging and shipping stuff.
@Dexter@njb750 I'd like to think that DS is just a special case and that dressing gets easier with age. DD is actually pretty good about being dressed. She's already trying to show her brother up.
@mosaicmoscato Could you go with some of these type of pants? They are supposed to be great with cloth diapers and I think there are some that look like jeans. I heard someone call them maxaloons, but i think that is the brand.
I've been up for almost 3 hours with DS1 while LO was still sleeping and I got so much done. I'm so proud of myself. I was so excited that I almost couldn't stop cleaning. \:D/
We need good work vibes please! DH is a Union Carpenter and works for a finish carpentry company. There hasn't been any jobs that needed finish carpentry done (DH is the last trade that goes in because they are installing cabinets, base boards, countertops, sinks, closets, bathroom partitions, you name it) but we just got word yesterday that a big job for a hospital is opening up Monday! They specifically asked for DH (pending that the foreman on the job says he will take DH on) and I'm so nervous! We need the money so bad and this would be a 2 year job! DH Just went to school for training and is eligible to be an 8th period apprentice. Which means if he works the hours that he would get on this job, he would also end up getting a $7 pay raise.
This makes no sense, I'm sure. So I hope someone else here is familiar with the carpenter's union and actually knows what the hell I'm taking about.
Tl;Dr- DH might start work Monday. This means a steady income, a huge pay raise, and we need this so bad. Quick! Someone mow their lawn. We don't have one.
Re: Tuesday Randoms
Woken is a word, right? Or am I making it up? It looks weird.

THE GOOD: It's Pajama Day at school so I'm wearing the pjs I bought for my hospital stay with DD.
#comfytown
THE BAD: I have to go to Target after work in pjs. Should I go to Walmart instead?
THE UGLY: I've lost a ton of weight since I bought these so it's possible the drawstring won't be enough and I'll be mooning some kids today.
@narcissticbeaut treat yourself to some Starbucks!
@dexter&11 we have a wrestling match here too. also with diaper changes. Why do they insist on getting on their hands and knees?

Completely unrelated: There is not enough mouthwash in my house.
Working mommies love craft stores too. We just go on our lunch breaks and/or after work and blow through the store!
Dexter&11 It took 4 rounds to get LO dressed this morning. I actually gave up for a while and let him crawl around in his diaper.
