Short story:
39 and 1/2 years old with 3 losses, no children. My MC's are May 2013, April 2014, and October 2014.
I just got a call from the RE that my OBGYN referred me to and they said they would get all the paperwork and make an appointment..which right now is in January some time. Ugh, January?? Of course I am being impatient and would like to know what's going on but I wanted to see if this is normal before I start looking around for another RE.
Did anyone else have to wait over 2 months to get in with an RE? (warning, possible dumb newbie question!) Even if you can't TTC at this point, can't they at least start testing to see if there is something going on?
Thank you ahead of time
Re: Is it normal to have to wait over 2 months for the first RE appointment?
Surprise BFP# 5 - 9/2/16 - Due 5/13/17
I feel like it's somewhat normal, but I called for my first appointment on a Thurs or Fri, and they got me in for a consult the following Tuesday.
If I were you, I might call another RE to see how long the wait is to get an appointment with them.

I'm going to call around tomorrow but I hate those types of calls. I don't want to be "that" person but if the initial appt is 2+ months out I'm wondering about the other ones. It will be getting close to the date MH and I stated we would throw in the towel.
Sorry for the rambling!
@LDubHawksFan it wouldn't hurt to call around and see what they say. I really wish I would have started earlier but the fact I was getting pregnant and I had only had 2 MC's my OB said they typically won't do anything until #3 I'm sorry it's been over a year for you.

Since it's normal I guess I will just call this one other place that was recommended to me to see if they have something earlier just in case. If they say the same thing I will put on my waiting hat.

I know that when I got a referal to see my MFM the wait was 4 months. Thankfully, the secretary suggested I get my blood work done before the appointment so by the time I actually met with the doc she'd have all the results. I would definitely push to get a script for any bloodwork she would plan on doing and go from there.
They JUST called me back and scheduled me for Dec 17th and hopefully they will put me on the cancellation list.
This may be a good thing, having the initial visit before the holidays and moving forward with other appointments at the start of the year. I am determined to stay positive damn it :-D
