Huge... & Not far along... felling embarrassed

Im only a little over 7 weeks.... This is my 3rd child. I get that its not baby... but more bloat. But Im feeling really big. People can tell I'm pregnant. Im not over weight, but not super skinny either. I asked my doctor and he makes me feel ridiculous..."maybe you need to poop." "You wont show any earlier than if it was your first". But my body has something else in mind. So the few people I have told ask "How far are you??" "Are you sure theres not 2?" Im getting to the point that I'm feeling really embarrassed... I know I should care so much...Im pregnant...but really... 7 weeks and I look atleast 3 or 4 months. Is anyone else showing early?

I would feel ridiculous if you listened to what people were saying instead of your doctor. It's bloat, nothing more. And take your Dr's advice - try to poop.

  • Agreed, it's bloat. Your baby isn't even the size of a raspberry yet, so it's not possible to be really showing. Plus, your uterus is still tucked behind the pubic bone, so again, impossible to be actually showing this early. Eat some fiber, drink some water, and understand that bloat is a normal part of the first trimester. (and sometimes beyond)

  • This is my second too, and I feel like I'm huge, although I'd bet no one else would notice anything yet. Maybe you just feel that way or don't actually look that big?

I understand it's bloat... As I stated before. I know it's not baby....as I stated before. Nor do I need to be "coddled" by my doctor. And I never asked him coddle me... I'm simply just feeling the effect and was hoping for some stories that are similar... I'm embarrassed bc ppl assume I'm farther along. I don't eat crap, I drink a lot of water. I'm educated about pregnancy. And I wasn't asking for ppl to tell me to listen to my doctor.
........So you just want to hear people say they have/had bloat too?.............. I was bloated too.

For everyone telling her it's bloat. She already said that it was bloat in her OP. Just pointing that out since it looks like a lot of you missed it.

    and OP,mg.ff

ETA: because my daughter wanted to say something... OP, drink water and eat fruits. It will help with bloat. Your body is retaining water due to sodium and probably some dehydration

    It's a BOY

  • That really sucks that people are noticing and thinking that you are farther along than you really are. Can you wear baggy clothes to cover up? This is my first pregnancy, I'm 9 weeks along and some days I feel huge even though in my mind I know I'm not showing, but it still feels like it. I haven't been able to work out, so I know I've gained weight, which is probably why I feel the way I do. I hope you feel better and are able to use clothing to help minimize your feeling of looking big.

I don't think anyone missed it, just confirming that it isn't anything else but bloat. The OP wasn't super clear and kinda made it seem like she was hoping something else was making her look "huge".
Well, let's not assume that's what she wanted to hear. She obviously feels bad for being "huge". I thought she was pretty clear. Call me a white night but maybe pick and choose the snark a little more. Looks like some of the posters are just looking for any reason to be A holes. I come over from M14 for the drama and laughs but these are just dumb

    ETA added shits
Honestly I don't see anyone acting like an asshole here or snark. People told her that it is in fact bloat, to believe her doctor, and ways to help the bloat. Guess being an asshole to you is telling the truth.
"I'm not mean I'm just honest" right? Right? A few posts were flat out "you're just bloated". Well yeah, she already said she was bloated. And that she knew she was bloated. It's new to me that telling the truth was just restating an original comment. Basically the thread went something like

"I'm bloated. My doctor said maybe I need to poop."

And responses went something like "you're blaoted. You need to poop." And some other offered advice on how to get rid of bloat. The end.

    It's a BOY

I'm still failing to see where the snark is that you seem so concerned about.

Maybe snark wasn't the right word. More like stating the obvious that has already been stated.

  • I totally understand. Now I'm at 10.5 weeks and the bloat is much better..
Hopefully it eases up in the next few weeks. Until then, hot lemon water and sweatshirts!

OP, sorry you're feeling that way. I know 1st trimester can be hard on the self esteem a bit. We already feel like crap, and then feeling like we look huge doesn't help.  I have noticed that I look a lot bigger than I did with my 1st pregnancy.  I've gained less wait at this point than I did this far along w/my first but I look twice as pregnant (yes i know, it's bloat. but LOOK like I'm showing).   I've heard that since our stomach  muscles have already been stretched out from a previous pregnancy, there's a bit more give there so maybe our bloat shows earlier lol ;)
  • @Walk2811‌ It isn't just you. Sometimes the first trimester bloat hits some harder than others. Keep drinking your water and stay active. If nothing else, eventually bloat will give way to bump. Keep your chin up, girl. :)
  • Well.... Welcome to team bloat! I feel like a damned balloon! !!! And I'm drinking water and eating well.... but I look like I have 4months! It's not fun.... but we have to Suck it up I guess.... I try not to worry about it.
  • I'm in your bloat boat! 7 weeks 5 days and I definitely look like I'm showing. I too realize it's bloating and honestly I probably could use a good poop, but in all honesty I look as though I'm 4-5 months along, though I had a little pooch before this pregnancy courtesy of my last one :p

She wanted to hear our stories.  My story was I was bloated because it is impossible to be "showing" that early.  What else was there to say? "Omg Im sorry you are dealing with one of the most common things in pregnancy?"

Hmmmm. Let me go back an reread what I said. I said some of you were telling her SHE was bloated. I never said anything about you telling her your stories of being bloated. Not everyone offered a story.

    It's a BOY

  • Wow. The point. It's been missed. Surprise! I said she stated that she was so bloated and felt huge. Several (not all and I never said all) responses were repeating exactly what she said. Maybe next time I'll point fingers. For the while that I have been here there is nothing I love more than telling someone their swollen water retaining "bump" at 7 weeks is bloat, but some of you didn't tell her anything she didn't already know. Just looking for a reason to be all "it's bloat you're not showing gawd". I think I've made my opinion pretty clear so we can stop going in circles now. And yes, you're right, I meant snark.

Oh look. It's the WK again, defending nothing of importance.
    Ew. Don't.

  • Are you all serious here? I'm new to this bump board and you all are being extremely petty. Can't you just agree to disagree and move on?

  • I started showing earlier with my second then my first. They told me it's like of like a balloon, the first time you blow it up it's hard but the second it blows up faster/ easier.
