Re: ♥♥AMA Check-in 10/27♥♥

  • AFM: I am on the 4th day of my 4 day weekend. DH and I had a nice anniversary weekend hanging out at the house, going out for meals and even got one of our much needed house projects started. We have a new front door. I just need to get the door painted and the molding back up. But today I am making my Halloween costume, taking the dogs to get dolled up at the dog parlor, and getting my mid cycle scan (hoping for good sized follies).

  • Thanks for the check in @rubysi.  Good luck with your house projects and your follicle scan!

I am doing pretty well.  I worked all weekend and today I have an interview for a job I REALLY, REALLY want.  I am tired of working out of town so this will be awesome if I get it.  The flip side is that I am nervous and it doesn't work I will be crushed.
TTC related, I posted this week about my first RE appointment.  This cycle I O'd late and my lining is thin so I don't have my hopes up.  I'm looking forward to getting my testing done next cycle and am anxious to get the results of my AMH.

  • @rubysi‌ Thaks for the checkin! FX for good follies. What's your Halloween costume?

I am on CD13, waiting to O. I am trying different OPKs this month, the kind you dip instead of the POAS type. I feel like I am performing litmus tests constantly (maybe I should go with a mad scientist theme for Halloween :) ). This is the last attempt before the RE will get involved. I see her for our consult next Monday.

NTTCR: I think I am getting a transfer at work! I am a little nervous both that it will fall through and slightly nervous that it will go through (it's a very different area of my field). I think it will make me less stressed overall and the hours are closer to what my husband works. Overall I am very excited. I just hope I fill the role well, I think I am having some self confidence issues. I am also still suffering from this stupid cold. It needs to stop.

I hope everyone else is doing well this week. ((Hugs)) to all who need them.

  • @rubysi - good luck with the scan and I hope you have some good follies!

@tlc35 - Good luck on the interview today and FX that you get this job!

@meredithcarole - you will do wonderful. It's normal to be nervous about change and I think that nervousness (and loss of confidence) gets amplified after what all of us have gone through.

AFM - We traded in our car yesterday! It was kind of bittersweet in some ways because the first time I saw this model of car was a few weeks before we lost Zachary on just an absolutely great trip.  We picked that car out as our perfect family car. On one side, it had been driving me crazy to have the "mom" car with no reasonable outlook that the backseat would ever be occupied, on the other side, I felt like I was getting rid of something that had to do with Zachary. I did not expect to get hit by that at the dealer.

Anyway, we traded in for a new C-Max Energi and got a really good deal because it was a 2014.  We had Prius' before and loved having a hybrid.  Both of us have more of a commute again and were spending a ton on gas every month (he drives a pick-up and I had a V6). I'm not working today so H got to drive it. So far, it looks whoever is driving it will go from filing up once a week to filling up once a month. Since our car payment stayed the same and we got in at no money down, I call that a win.

  • Thanks for the check in! @rubysi you just reminded me that I have to get moving on getting my front door replaced. You would think that people would want work but every contractor we call either doesn't have the time or never calls us back! Also, happy anniversary to you :)

@tlc35 FX you get this job! I took a new position with my company short of a year ago and it meant no more travel. It has felt so nice being home and not living on a plane our out of a suitcase all the time.

@meridithcarole moving into a new role is always a bit nerveracking but it sounds like it will be great. I had the same nervous thoughts that you did when I moved into my new role in my company but it turned out pretty damn good. Less stress is always a good thing so it's worth the try right there. FX to you as well! And I hope you feel better, I am afraid the weather change the last few days, as slight as it was here in Florida, will cause me to get my first cold of the season.

As for me? Up and down but overall doing much better than last week. Sitting here waiting for the RE office to call me to schedule my first visit. I was hoping it would be this week because I've already met my 3k dollar deductible for the year that happens to start all over again here on Nov 1st. Always the way it goes *sigh* I won't lie, I am a wreck thinking about going to an RE and seeing what they find. I would much rather know though, than to always wonder wtf was wrong with me :)

On a side note I don't have much to contribute to all of the tracking. I am still learning all the acronyms and working on learning what I need to be doing. One good thing is that my body is like clockwork, even after my last two MC's AF started up right at the 28-29 day mark from the day the MC started. I am hoping it does the same this time around. After reading others stories I find myself very lucky in that aspect and I hate to hear that others cycles are messed up :(

I am not sure how to say this without getting a "solicitation" warning so I guess I just say that I am not longer active on THIS site.

  • @tlc35 Good luck with the interview!

@buggirl72‌ I think you're right, my confidence definitely took a nose dive after the loss. It sounds like your new car is definitely a win! I am sorry it felt like giving up a piece of Zachary, though. (((Hugs)))

@Nikolie93‌ I'm in FL, too. Maybe it's the weather....

  • @buggirl72 the new car definitely sounds like it was a good move. MH and I are trying to decide if we want to move forward with something now or wait.  Car buying for me is usually spontaneous so I guess we shall see!

@furrypaws so hard to get mad at the cute furry babies but sometimes grrrrrr lol. I have a new kitten that is into EVERYTHING. Everyday I go home from work I cringe as I do a walkthrough of the house to see what he's done lol

@meridithcarole I always get sick when the tempature changes around this time of year, even if it isn't a big drop. I mean really, it's still going to be 87 here today!

  • @rubysi Thanks for the checkin! Fx crossed for good follies.Waht color are yo painting your door? I dream of having a red door someday! :)

@tlc35 Thanks for sharing your RE story earlier this week. I just found out I have NO infertility coverage with my insurance so I'm kind of worried if my regulare OB can't help any further. Might be time to add onto my hubby's insurance. Sending you luck for the job interview! :)

@meridithcarole Trust me, I have so many OPK tests taped to paper, I feel like I run a lab! Good luck on your job situation!

@buggirl72 Sounds like the new car is great! I'm feeling ready for a new one soon...

@Nikolie93 Glad to see you here. Its defintiley stressful wondering if something is wrong but getting in to your doc to cover all your bases is beneficial. I wish I could goto an RE! Fx that your cycle recovers as well as it did in the past! Where in FL are you? My parents are still in Cocoa Beach and they say the weather has been wonderful.

@furrypaws Awww, I can't wait to get a puppy, but not looking forward to the antics! Sorry O is being so frustrating this motnh...hugs!

AFM: On CD27, 9DPO today and was a silly girl and did a test. Negative of course...last time I didn't have a positive til 14DPO! Ugh, wish I had more patience. So, now just trying to distract myself for a few more days. I do have a little trip to NY this weekend to look forward to, mostly for work but I'll have one day to myself. It'll be nice for a weather change...Southern Cali doesnt have much of a fall! :(

FX you get the job. Bring water and take sips while they ask questions, it gives you a little time to think before answering. Good luck.

@tlc35 good luck with the job interview, I know the whole process can be stressful!

@meridithcarole I hope the new OPKs work out and the transfer goes well.

@buggirl72 Congrats on the new car, we got a hybrid a year ago and the savings are amazing!

@Nikolie93 I hope you can get into the RE soon.

@furrypaws Its good to see the puppy is feeling better!  But, sorry about the frustration with the OPKs

AFM just trying to get this writing project and house done all before my family invades before Thanksgiving.  I know I can do it, but I am also trying to get ready for IVF at the same time so it is a bit stressful.  Right now I am in a 2ww wait for our last IUI (insurance made us do it, pissed about that...) and am pretty relaxed since I started with zero expectations.  Unfortunately the "symptoms" from the progesterone supps are continuing in force.

I hope the RE can get you in this week. You might also prepare yourself for test results coming back normal. This is equally frustrating. I am glad your body steps back into "normal" cycle mode. Mine took a few months to regulate.

Hi lady @rubysi! Happy anniversary! FX for a good follie scan!

The puppy's hematoma is almost gone! And he is up to his usual bad puppy antics...he got ahold of the rental car keys over the weekend and kinda sorta ate a bit of the key fob...[-X  I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed I don't get a call saying we owe a million bucks for a new one!!! 8->

TTCALR...This cycle is seeming to be wonky. :( I've had 6 - OPKs when I should be Oing today. This has me very frustrated.

@buggirl72 (((hugs))) hun. I understand the feelings related to the vehicle. Filling up the tank once a month would be amazing!

@nikolie93 Insurance companies and their thievery can kiss my ass! Rrrrr....

@tlc35 FX FX FX for the interview!! Keep us posted!!

@meredithcarole GL w/ the transfer! I know it can be scary/hard to change things but I'm sure you will be great! And yay to hours more like your H's...more time together!

Wonky cycles are frustrating. Is it possible you missed your surge? You seem to be at your post O temp range now...

But southern Cali is awesome come January. I saw your note about not having fertility coverage. I would check with your insurance about diagnostics. My insurance will not cover any procedures(IUI or IVF) or fertility medication, but it covers all of my tests including my HSG, so far even my mid cycle scans are considered diagnostic, my femara is not a "fertility drug", so it is also covered. Call and ask it won't hurt to be informed.

@meredithcarole - I hope that your transfer comes soon.  I hope the new OPKs are going OK.

@Nikolie93 - I hope that you hear from the RE office very soon.
@furrypaws - Wow, bad puppy!  I'm glad that he's feeling better.  I hope you get a +OPK soon!
@scrang74 - A trip to NY sounds like a great distraction.
@yellowcat10 - I'm so sorry that the progesterone supplements are such a MF!  I hope that this TWW flies by so you can get started.

  • Ugh, I just heard back from the RE and they are looking at January at some point for the earliest appointment. I guess that may be normal but that's a long, hard, wait. Especially since it will only be the initial consultation appointment..and I am already 39 yo.Like most everyone else I will be sitting around waiting!

I am not sure how to say this without getting a "solicitation" warning so I guess I just say that I am not longer active on THIS site.

  • @Nikolie93 I'm sorry that you have to wait so long to see the RE.  That sucks.

@furrypaws my cycle this month was like that, too.  I ran out of OPK and then tried another brand which sucked because I kept getting positives and then not having a temp spike. It was really frustrating

@mmpar29 welcome to the checkin.  Fx that this cycle is normal.

@meredithcarole I am so excited that it looks like you are getting that transfer at work!

@buggirl72 your new car sound pretty awesome

@scrang74 I'm glad you have trip this weekend to distract you.  The TWW sucks!

@yellowcat10 Good luck with your project and Thanksgiving.

My update: At  this point they are building the program and currently just want me to come on board as part time contract work.  I still have a few other people to meet with but I think this is fairly likely to happen.  I'm hoping this will eventually turn into a full time job but it looks like it will be a process.  I hope this helps me get my foot in the door.

Ugh, I just heard back from the RE and they are looking at January at some point for the earliest appointment. I guess that may be normal but that's a long, hard, wait. Especially since it will only be the initial consultation appointment..and I am already 39 yo.Like most everyone else I will be sitting around waiting!

I am so sorry you are waiting so long. Would your OB be willing to run your CD3 tests. I had this done so my RE had that information at the time of consultation.

  • @rubysi‌ I may call my Dr to see if that's an option. I am new at all of this and I hate to admit I have no idea what CD3 tests are. I'm trying to learn as I go though!

And I'm doing a follie dance for you :)
I am not sure how to say this without getting a "solicitation" warning so I guess I just say that I am not longer active on THIS site.

They are are blood tests taken on cycle day 3.

    FSH=folical stimulating hormone
    AMH= anti-mullerian hormone
    E2= Estradiol
    LH=Luteinizing Hormone

I am sure I am missing some. I also had my thyroid checked at the same time. I believe FSH is the only one that needs to be done on a specific day.

  • Thanks @rubysi - happy anniversary!! Woo hoo for the follies!!

@tlc35 - good luck on the job interview!!

@meredithcarole - I LOL'd at the litmus tests :)  Good luck with the RE appointment on Monday!!

@buggirl72 - ((hugs)) for the hit at the car dealership- it's crazy which things keep some sort of rememberance for us.  The new car sounds great though, especially the gas fill ups!!

@Nikolie93 - good luck with the RE appointment. I know it can be scary with or without having answers but hopefully whatever answers you get will give you a plan!

@furrypaws - sorry for the wonky OPKs hon- hopefully things get moving in the right direction soon

@yellowcat10 - sorry about the progesterone side effects, good luck getting through the 2WW!

AFM- still waiting for the results for DH's Counsyl test and my OPKs are getting darker and darker every day. I called the genetic counselor on Friday and left her a message just letting her know how close this was cutting us to O time and that if there was anything she could do to get the results to us as quickly as possible, it would be much appreciate.  I'm guessing I'll get a positive OPK tomorrow or Wednesday, so I've sort of resigned myself to the fact that we'll miss our timing this month, but still hoping for a pleasant surprise :)  Especially since I have my 2nd EDD and my 1st loss anniversary in November, it would be really great to have something to be happy about during a really crappy month.  I guess we'll see how it goes.

    BFP #1- 4/2011; DD Brynn born 12/2011

BFP #2- 7/13; EDD- 4/2/14; Lost DS at 20 weeks (11/16/13) due to cord accident

BFP #3- 3/14; EDD- 11/28/14; Lost DD at 15 weeks (6/7/14)- cause unknown

To my angels- I held you every second of your lives and I'll love you every second of mine.

@Nikolie93‌ not to be too intrusive, but what city are you in? The RE I am going to go see I had to wait 5 weeks, but January is a long wait imo.

ETA: an occupational hazard (chef) is that I forget about how holidays work in the real world. Given the fact that there is a week in November and about 2 weeks at the end of December/January where there are vacations galore for those who can schedule such things, it may make sense that you are looking at a 9 week wait. ((Hugs)).

  • @scrang74 and @meridithcarole I am in Tampa area (Brandon to be exact). I did think about the holiday's as well but I have a feeling this place is always booked like that. I am going to wait to hear back and hopefully it will be sooner.

@scrang74 the weather has been pretty nice here but still a bit warmer and more humid than I would like. It's about 68 in the morning and the high yesterday still reached 87 :( I can still feel a difference in the air though but it's nothing like the beginning of fall feeling of up north.

@rubysi I think I will be frustrated if things come back normal becuase we all want to know a reason but I would rather that and know it's ok for me to TTC again than sit around in limbo forever. It's tempting to try again since my cycle will most likely be on track again right away but if there IS something wrong I would hate to cause another MC.

On a side note: I have no idea how you ladies keep up with the conversations with all the @'s and all the updates lol
I am not sure how to say this without getting a "solicitation" warning so I guess I just say that I am not longer active on THIS site.

  • Thank you for the check-in and continuing to include me, even though I'm not posting or viewing this site on a regular basis. I suffered my second loss at 9 weeks and I'm still recovering from a D&C on 10/14.  I'm too bitter and raw to give advice or comments to others but will eventually rejoin all of you. I hope you can understand.

  • Hi, and thank you for the check-in, @rubysi! Happy late anniversary and yay for the follies!

Boy, am I ever late to this party...thankfully, it seems I'm rid of my cold! At work, though, I'm stuck with a pretty unforgiving schedule until Christmas break. Our house keeps surprising us...the latest was a waterleak in the master bath that resulted in major floor damage. DH balked at the contractors' estimates and decided to tackle the project himself. The demo is almost done...so we are basically having a small life version of HGTV at home.

CD 28 here, so AF ought to show in a bit. Honestly, this will be it for me/us as far as TTC goes, but after a really emotional start into October, I feel okay with that. It's been an emotional roller coaster this past year, and I feel lots calmer now.

@yellowcat10 - good luck with the house! I'm sure you'll be able to get it ready despite the stress.

@sunflwra - I'm sorry about the delay, but hopefully timing won't be quite as bad as you suspect.

    Hugs all around!
Hugs... I am glad things are calming down.

It's great having someone handy. Are you just fixing the floor or is there some remodeling being done also?
