Blood test question

Hi all hoping you can help- I have a miscarriage in July at 5 weeks. Got my bfp on Saturday and called the doctors office today. I asked for a blood draw because I am nervous after last time. They said they won't do it until 5 weeks because the numbers would be low (I am four weeks today) I am nervous that something will happen in this week I am waiting, I want to see a number to make me feel better. Should I have pushed for the test sooner? I know there is not much they can do anyway.

I would call back and request one sooner. Usually they wait til your missed period to make sure it's bit a chemical but there's no reason you should have to wait til 5 weeks.

I agree with PPs. I had my first draw at 4 weeks and had 3 draws prior to my firsr at u/s at 6 weeks.

Thank you for all the advise! I called again and asked if it could be pushed sooner to ease my mind and they insisted that it doesn't mean anything and that it does not make any sense to do it at all. According to them nothing will matter until thy can see the first ultrasound. I am frustrated and considering changing doctors as this is not the first issue with them.

So frustrating!! I agree seeing the numbers raise by 66+% is very reassuring and it seems crazy they won't let you having your beta checked. I hope you can find a good provider that will let you! Best of Luck!!
