woke up with a sick, shivering toddler, took her temp and it was 101.8 and she's not eating, out of nowhere she starts crying and says "my ear hurts mamma" awww, its so sad. so working from home today it is!
on a positive note, we got a bunch done to the nursery, paint and shelves put together, went to ikea and got some cute accents, a rug and a lamp - its so cheap, love that store!
I need to vent I'm soooo miserable!!! I failed my gd test on Thursday and have been sick ever since, even my morning sickness meds aren't touching it. I am doing my 3 hour now after fasting and I was sooooo dizzy this morning I could barely drive because I took too much of my meds trying to get rid of the nausea. So I was nauseated and dizzy. I made it to the hospital and found out for this stupid test they take blood 4 times today. Greeeat I hate needles and they always have trouble finding my veins. I ended up crying when they made me drink that crap it was even worse than last time avd I kept puking it back up into my mouth. Never doing this pregnancy thing again. Please remind me of my severe morning sickness, all the blood draws and all the time I've spent in the hospital because I've been so sick if I ever get baby fever again. Sigh. 2 hours 18 min to go...
@kerrigrooves I'm right there with you. DS spent all of yesterday hovering between 100 and 101, and saying "owww" all day. I brought him to the pedi this morning and sure enough, ear infection. Poor kids.
F15 December Siggy Challenge: Holiday Decoration Fails
I'm right there with you @Alygohome I have my 1 hour test at 11:30am local time and after fasting since 9:30pm last night, I'm starting to feel nauseated. At least I can still take my meds, but it has to be with water and not what I really want, grape juice. I have to leave in 45 minutes, I guess I'd better stop dragging my feet and get ready. Best to get this thing over with ASAP! I am sorry your 3 hour test is going so sucky (((hugs)))
T&Ps that your son gets over the URI and ear infection quickly @CatLadtTX. I hope your daughter feels better soon, too @kerrigrooves.
That's so rough @Alygohome. I hope the next 2 hours fly by for you.
On top of a rough night in which I had a dream that a spider chased me and was able to lunge and jump on my head even after I had gotten to higher ground I woke up so started that I pinched nerve in my neck. It took an hour for the pain to stop so that I could get back to sleep and my neck is still sore this morning. DS woke up the same way he did from his nap yesterday, weeping quietly in his room. After watching him closely today I think he's starting to get his molars. The only thing that can make a fussy teething toddler easier to handle is to factor in that it's finals week (everything is due tomorrow night and I'm only half finished with anything) and BH. I had completely forgotten BHs and how much they suck until this morning. At least today is DH's Friday.
It sounds like everyone is having a rough day though so hugs all around and my bright note is that I did get my laundry done and put away (finally) and I started dinner early. The chicken has cooked perfectly and all I have left to do is figure out what type of sauce I want to make. I'm thinking of a cheesy salsa over macaroni.
I have to AW DS a bit. He was a rockstar on the plane. He now wants to know when we get to go on an airplane again.
We had a great long weekend in Arizona staying with my grandparents. They hadn't seen B since he was about a month old, so they were loving spending time with him. They are 80 so we need to see them every chance we get. My grandma and my aunt think my grandpa is showing early signs of Alzheimer's so they're making him go for testing. FX it's not. After spending time with him, I'm being optimistic that it's just because he's 80 years old. I wasn't seeing any clear signs while we were there. He knew when the baby was due and stuff like that, but I'm not around him all the time, so I know I'm not a good judge.
Are you all scared there is a spider gif in the "Finish My Sentence Game" post? Get in there and have some fun gosh darn it. I want to be entertained!!

@WanderingA - omg what a brutal night!! I think you earned a break with the TV. And that does NOT make you a bad Mom. I get help from the TV almost every day..
@kismetjess -Thinking of you hun! I hope all is well at the hospital
@crabigator - woohoo!! Ella peed three times on the potty this weekend and its like we won the lottery!
Told my boss last week I was expecting. Today let him know I needed to pick up our two girls and leave work an hour early (was here an hour and a half before him) and he flips out and gives me a lecture then tells me I'll have to take a 1/2 day of pto. Then advised I would do so but would still only be leaving at 4- to which he reminds me how important it is to be here but that if I'm taking the time I should take the half day. Advise him I'll make other arrangements for our girls- then he tells me family comes first.. Wtf. Talk about a bipolar cluster F**k of confusion. Anyone else dealing with dicks at work?
I'm finally finishing up in l&d. Ffn and amniosure both came back negatice ...so yay! Still have to go to my appt. Tomorrow. Some day I'll get some actual work done.
I cant believe its the end of October already... I feel like time is flying by! I got the shipping confirmation for my dress today for the fancy shower and I almost started crying. I swear its things like this just make me so happy and grateful.
DH sent me the inspiration pic for his tux. He swears he is going to be on the cover of GQ. I have to say Im quite turned on though. I just love a well dressed man. He looks so good in formal wear, but hates wearing it.
You know that song by Beyonce "Yonce/Partition"... thats so going to be us. I dont think we will make it to the gala, well on time at least. (if you dont know the reference, click here and see Verse 3)

@mahalo3 that is so funny! You should mail it to her without wrapping it. Hahaha.
@erobbins09 Don't stress too much about the Etsy shop. You only have to have 1 thing listed for sale to be on there. I find it's easier for me to list things in groups of 2-5. PM me if you want some tips I've used. Its work, but it's worth it.
So, I just passed out before my glucose test for no reason? I think I locked my legs.
And then I find out I have to do a 24 hour urine collection before my hypertension test, which no one told me about. So now I have to come back later this week to do that blood draw.
It is teething and DS screams everytime I put him down. I'm now trapped under a napping toddler and afraid to move. I need to start my sauce in the next half hour and still have 4 pages to write on my paper alone, not to mention the other class work.

@jaztastic I feel fine now. I just remember feeling clamy and sweaty, then slightly dizzy, then nauseated. The next thing I remember, the phlebotomists are holding me up to keep me from falling. I had to fast 12-14 hours before the test, which ended up being administered late, so my husband thinks it might have been low blood sugar. So, who knows. But I feel ok now.
Of the 709 votes in the sex clicky poll, what percentage do you guys estimate are contributors? Just curious. I've noticed the board growth, but idly wonder how many of us contribute at least a few times per week.
Awaiting our bundle of cute chaos.

I need to get my glucose test done. Since it takes an hour do I need an appointment at quest or can I just walk in?
I have Quest too and I needed to make an appointment, though I went online and made my appointment that way. I literally just got done with mine. Good luck.
Good news all around over here. My neighbor seems to be more rational today. She is sad of course, and hurt by her ex but she's not frustrated with me and apologized for putting me in the middle of things. My heart breaks for her so I'm glad we are still on good terms at least.
Also, I completed a project for Charlie's nursery! My DH cut the letters out if sheet metal because he really enjoys metal work and then we let them rust in the backyard for about a month. Put sone picture hangers on the back a bow for decoration and we're good! Now if we can just get the crib put together again instead of in pieces on the floor.
Dumb question.
I need to get my glucose test done. Since it takes an hour do I need an appointment at quest or can I just walk in?
@sugahcookie01 You dont HAVE to have an appointment, but making one is best...unless you can get there when they first open before they get bumrushed. Remember that your 1hr doesnt start until after you have completed the drink they give you, after they check you in. So I went first thing in the AM and it still took me almost 2hrs start to finish.
Speaking of GT... I have to do mine again. I had my first one at 9weeks, but apparently the doc wants me to retake my 1hr at 28wks, just to make sure everything is still fine. I made my appointment already.

Okay cool! I just did an online appointment but it just says "routine lab work." I didn't have to specify glucose test right?
(Stuck in the quote box)
I specified, but no, not really. You sign in and then they call you up to find out why you're there and to get your insurance information.
I find it interesting how differently doctors do things across the board. I was given Glucola and instructions to take home after my last appointment. I just have to drink it before I show up at my next appointment.
What a crazy and busy weekend. We finished the nursery and everything looks amazing. I feel so accomplished. I just sat in his room yesterday in the new glider and couldn't believe someone would be living in there soon, or to quote @lizjennings81, moving in!
Anyone else dealing with rude staff at their doctor? I know I get way more ultrasounds because I'm high risk but when we went for my growth ultrasound on Friday the tech was not nice. She questioned why I was there and said I was "only 22 weeks." My MFM doctors do ultrasounds every month for growth because diabetic babies can be on either extremes of the size spectrum. She works for the MFM doctors btw. She asked what GENDER we were having and I said boy. She then went to look at his parts and said "Really? I guess I'll take your word for it." Their office did our AS! He then moved and verified in fact he is still a boy. She was just not nice at all. Maybe I'm biased because this was the same woman who at our 8 week appointment said my uterus had 2 layers and asked if I had tests done before. I had and told her everything turned out normal and again she questioned it even though the test were done in the same office. I was crushed thinking we were going to have another loss and she was scaring me and would say nothing other than something was wrong with my uterus. Turns out that after the doctor looked at the ultrasound my uterus happened to contract at the exact time of the picture and everything was fine. This woman gives me anxiety and stress every time.
DH VOLUNTEERED to cook dinner tonight because of my weak hand and painful wrist (it's my dominant hand, lucky me). He's such a good man.
OAN: 12 days until my baby shower!! It's going to feel more like a family reunion and I'm so excited to see my family...I haven't seen most of them since July and I miss them so much!

I crashed after my three hour test. I slept 4 hours and I feel so sick now. But I put in a roast in the dutch oven for Dh. That is as far as my cooking will go tonight lol he can make a salad of something to go with it!
This is for the STM+ out there... I bought some onesies the other day and noticed all of them were drag-over-the-head type (you put them on like a t shirt). How difficult is it to get a new born through those? I'd imagine a newborn's head would be really soft and his head and his entire being would be kinda floppy. Am I better off buying the side snaps onesies and sleepers instead?
3 things. 1- I put my pants on backwards this morning. 2- an employee called out today. If you call out on a Monday or Friday I think a doctors note should be federal law! 3- why the FUCK is T-swift on the Voice! Ugh...

Ah I've missed you ladies so much today! I wanted to contribute and pop in so badly but I was in a custodian training all morning at the high school and my phones batteries get completely drained just being in the building.
So this morning was terrible. I could have smack DH. I've asked him all week to throw away our moldy pumpkins. I reminded him to last night because today is trash day. He never did it so this morning he tells me that I'll probably need to go an stop and get gas today. Grrr he used the car last and he knows if you use it last and its on E you get gas whether its your regular car or not. So I went out to the car to grab DD's jacket and my nose is assaulted iwth the smell of the rotting pumpkins.
I came in yelling and gagging "I told you about the pumpkins last night," Then I ended up heaving everything left in my stomach from the night before into the toilet.
So to cut through all boring work stuff we didn't get a freaking break all day! I was pissed. As soon as we left the training me and my ladies went and ate lunch at a little hole in the wall that served pupusas con curtido. Which where amazing!
Got home passed out in bed to be woken by DH asking me if I wanted to go to Lowe's. He didn't even wait for my response before he tells me "you look tired sleep, you're growing a person you've done enough today".
That saved his ass from the pumpkin thing.
