Non CDR question- batteries

Does anyone know where you can take batteries to have them disposed of? I have a big bag of them and I don't know what to do with it. I know you aren't supposed to throw them away but I have no idea who would take them.
Me:41, DH:41 Positive for MTHFR mutations- one copy C677T, one copy A1298C. One daughter born on Thanksgiving in 2013. Six losses.

    Yes, that was me! I did a google search to see what the proper disposal method was per my town's waste collection guidelines. It turns out that we can dispose of batteries with our recycling, but they have to go in a separate clear bag so they don't get mixed in with the plastics, metal, and paper. I'm sure other areas have different stipulations, so you should check with your local waste management company to see what they require.
