Cloth Diapering

What to do with well loved used diapers?

I picked up a lot of cloth diapers recently. It's mostly old-school prefolds and plastic pants but there's also a few things I'm curious about whether there's any interest in anywhere. A few Biobottom wool covers and Nikki wool covers (well loved, definitely but I imagine they are still usable) as well as a bunch of G diaper covers and Bummis whisper wraps (all white, and again definitely well loved). Is it worth trying to resell these types of things online, or should I just throw the stuff I don't want back on Craigslist for cheap?

Also, the wool covers both say machine washable on them. Are they?? I thought wool had a lot of special care involved.

  • They appear to be okay, but I have no idea how fluffy the texture is supposed to be. No stains that I can find, the velcro still feels fairly sticky, and there are also two snaps on them. Mostly there's just wear around the edges, and the elastics are not the tightest.

Are there any FB groups specific for stuff like this?

  • There are FB groups- search buy/sell/trade or b/s/t cloth diapers.
  • I'd donate them.  I don't think you'll get a lot for them if you sell and there are great organizations that will repair and place in homes of people who really need them.  When I potty train Lola everything that is not a HTF print, Little Butt, or too gross to pass along, will be donated to a local cloth bank.

  • I use gdiapers. There is a fb group called gdiapers swap and shop. You may have success selling on there. I see people selling them in what they call play condition.

  • When I wind up with stuff that is usable but could use a refresh, I donate it to the local CD bank. They can redo elastics and h&l so a needy family can use them, and it counts as a small deduction on my taxes.
How did you go about finding one of those? All of our local banks for women and children only take disposable.
  • I usually donate my stuff to Jakes Diapers https://jakesdiapers.org/

Our local CD stores have collection buns for Share the Love. You can see if there is a collection point near you on the Cotton Babies website.
