Hi there! I'm sort of an outsider so I hope I am okay posting a question here. DS was born oct 16 2013. I need help figuring out how to feed him. We started BLW when he was 6 mo. When he actually started to eat, around 9 mo, he got much more picky. It bums me out because I'm a bit of a foodie and have never been a picky eater myself. I get annoyed around picky eaters and want to do what I can to ensure has the opportunity to eat a lot of different foods.
Right now he eats bread, cheese, carrots, squash, and most fruits. Sometimes avocados. He usually won't try anything else. If there is anything else on his tray that is not one of the above, it usually gets tossed to the dog. He won't even sniff it. I patiently keep trying, but he ends up getting grilled cheese everyday to attempt to get him to eat anything. Sometimes he eats these things well. Sometimes he barely eats anything.
I have not attempted eggs or peanut butter yet. We have not yet switched to wcm because we haven't been to the pedi for his 12 mo check. He doesn't understand how to use a spoon or how to dip something.
We usually feed him a 6-7oz bottle of formula and then give him solids. So he ends up eating 24-28 oz of formula a day. Is that why he doesn't eat solids well, because he gets too much formula? Should we give him solids before his bottle? Should I start measuring his food? I'm just so confused and stressed.
Re: Help me feed my 1 yr old!
Eggs with cheese and spinach are huge hit at my house. We just keep offering new things. If it were me I would not give a bottle then solids, his belly is full. You need to create a routine of times that you eat meals, and include LO.
I made the mistake once of giving my daughter food that was different than what we were eating. She ended up eating most of my chilli. I am big about sharing too, if I'm eating something DD always comes over to see what I have.

He won't drink formula from a sippy. What does your day look like? When do you do snacks? Do I get rid of a bottle. Today he hasn't drank very well, but he hasn't eaten very well either.
