Back carries

At what point do you feel comfortable doing back carries with your LO? DS1 was already at least 6mo by the time I got a non stretchy wrap for the back carries. I know you can put a NB on your back, but I didn't feel that comfortable yet. DS2 is almost 2mo, pretty strong with great head control, but will fall asleep pretty much every time I wear him.

I think they need good head control for a back carry. And then it depend on your comfort level with getting them on your back.

For woven wraps you can do back carries with newborns. You'd have to youtube the names, but it is done, but mostly with experienced wrappers. For soft structured carriers and mei tai's the baby should be sitting unassisted before doing back carries.

I just started back carries in the Mai tai with P. She's 5m.

Rucksack, double hammock, back wrap cross carry, I think there's a back torso carry too.

I think for littler babes you need a carry with lots of reinforcing passes. Look st a high back carry and a wiggleproof carry. You might even be able to do a half jordans or a shepherds carry as well.

I tried a double hammock, and quickly abandoned it after he lost his paci, and got mad because he was just too tired.
