GTKY: lazy girl confessions

I knew I'd be wearing pants that show about an inch of ankle today, so while showering I shaved exactly what would be exposed and left the rest alone. I thought I'd feel guilty about it, but instead I feel kind of like an evil genius.

Anyone else have any similar shortcuts? I may adapt them for my own now that I'm on a lazy girl roll!!

  • I did the exact same thing yesterday. I thought I was brilliant. But apparently I'm not the only one.

My leg hairs are each at least an inch long. I actually have to do the lazy lower leg shave today. At least it's blonde.
I do a lot of "dry shampoo" and "braided updo" with my hair lately. I have NO PATIENCE for washing my hair. It's so long and fine and takes like 40m to dry with a dryer. Too laze.

Edited because I'm too lazy to spell properly.

  • I... let the litter box go longer than i wanted too, partially bc the thing is not working properly and when I'm still having bad days with MS, the last thing i wanna do is check on cat poop. So... that room was a mess.

And for whatever reason DH decided he needed to go in there, saw the state of the bathroom, and apparently went on a cleaning frenzy while i suffered from food poisoning last night. The room is clean, but now he is mad at me, slept on the couch, and has been pure grouch (snarling at the cats- very dramatic). I'm trying not to care bc my stomach feels like it is trying to birth itself through my mouth, but i kinda just want to say, i was going to do it today, regardless, he didn't need to do it get so mad.

Also, i am aware on how this may look- i do not neglect my cats beyond them having a dirty litter box once in a while and i do take precautions while changing/scooping and all 3 cats have a clean bill of health via the vet.
  • I've never used dry shampoo because I think I'll end up a greasy mess. Does it really work? If it gets me an extra 20 minutes of sleep in the morning I'm all for it

  • Lol I do the something with shaving. I've got too much leg and ugh. I have Capri type pants that I wear out to Disney. I don't shave above the knee at this point. I've always hated it...

  • I'm not a fan of dry shampoo. It leaves like a light colored dust behind and I have very dark hair.

Speaking of hair, I had laser done on my legs several years ago and it was the best money I've ever spent. I still get strays here and there but for the most part I'm hair free from the knee down.

    ------------

Personally, i have yet to find one i really love, but i use g2be 'rockin it'. It's decent. I still feel kinda greasy, but I've also heard of you use dry shampoo before bed, it supposed to work better the next day. I have not tried this yet.

@Tyrion heh, i appreciate the concern. Idek why he got so pissed. He never said anything to me (which is probably good, bc i probably would have just yelled back as i shivered in bed) so, i have no idea what crawled up his butt... bc he usually doesn't touch the cleaning except taking out the trashes and sometimes doing grocery runs. He even offered to go out before he did the bathroom! This was also at 6am and i hadn't even gone to sleep yet (pregnancy insomnia is real, sob) and I'm sure he was overtired and just being dramatic.

@nungongju‌ I hope you are feeling better. My biggest concern with this post wasn't you being neglectful of your cats. It was with your husbands reaction to having to help you when you obviously needed it. Yikes.
agreed.  MH took over cat litter duty during the TTW, just in case, and has been doing it every since.  He needs help remembering, but he never ever complains about it.

  • I hadn't shaved my legs in 2+ weeks and it was gross!  I finally decided I needed to yesterday.  @Mitorachel I finally just folded 3 weeks worth of laundry we have been picking through since I was too lazy to fold and put it away.

And for the win -- I made half of dinner last night decided I didn't feel like finishing and went and got take out.

  • My whole life is dry shampoo. Actually I use baby powder. Cheaper and works better. They have darker colored dry shampoo for brunettes so your hair doesn't look gray too. I personally would always be a greasy mess if I didn't use it because my hair gets greasy SO fast. It's amazing. Trick, sprinkle it in your hair brush and brush through the greasy spots in your hair.

Unfortunately we're business owners and my husband has a lot on his plate, especially since i got pregnant. I agreed to do it until i couldn't bend over very well any more, just to save him some of the stress. I can understand why he got upset but i also know the dramatica were very high this morning.

I use Oscar Blandi 'pronto' dry shampoo, and I love it.

  • My hair is lucky if it gets a wash once a week. I use a lot of dry shampoo. I also only brush my hair when I wash it so by the time it gets a good brush I have to spend half an hour trying to get the knots out. And I have hair extensions. I used to take much better care of them... Oh well, I'm getting them taken out soon and cutting my hair short.

  • I LOVE DRY SHAMPOO! I use Dove but there is also one my designer friend swears by, Batiste, and they have ones specifically for dark or light hair to avoid the powdered wig look.

I usually do a braided front or messy bun when I use it because my hair gets wild volume when I spray it. But for real I have gone about 5 days no wash thanks to dry shampoo. Is true love.

I may be the odd one out :-/ I always have to shave my legs/armpits when I shower. It's a habit.

I was that way until I got too big with my first pregnancy to manage to do it without exhausting myself. Then I skipped to every other day. I hate the way it feels when my legs arent freshly shaved. I always always shave my underarms though. For about 2 months after my son was born I had no need to shave my underarms - nothing was growing. It was great but I wouldve much preferred that my leg hair growth was stunted because thats a pain to do, underarms take a whole 15 seconds.

  • I do use Batiste dry shampoo when I am desperate (no time to wash hair). My hair is really oily, so I wash my hair every day. If I don't have the time, I will use the dry shampoo on the second day.

Same here. Not just out of habit tho, I just don't like body hair on me. I shaved everything right up until I gave birth to my son. My big belly didn't stop me!

I am a little envious of you right now. My gut is getting to the point I can't see my hooch to shave it. I'm terrified to shave it without looking. After all, I don't want to go have sex with DH all cut up nor do I want to come in with a wooly mammoth in my pants. Oh and the doctor, I'm sure she has seen all kinds but I feel it just isn't nice to spread eagle with a full on bush (I may have to get over that).

When I was pregnant with my son I always just winged it when I couldn't see anymore and would sometimes bring a pocket mirror in the shower with me. I was determined to have clean shaven lady bits should I have happened to go into labor at any given time.

@MitoRachel‌ Same! At first I was ashamed and now I embrace it as the norm and screw it.

Also, the original Batiste Dry Shampoo has worked well for me and I have very dark hair. I just spray it far from my roots so that the product doesn't lighten my hair as much before I run it in but once it's in, my hair feels clean and fresh and I feel accomplished.

  • Dry shampoo is amazing - I have brown/blonde hair so it actually makes my roots look decent.

Also I was too lazy to wash a pair of pants today so I put in a pair of capris and put knee high boots over them. I thought I was a genius!
  • Best dry shampoo around and only takes two seconds to apply
  • Eh, I didn't care for Dove's dry shampoo. The smell is overwhelming to me.

@souptin I have to politely disagree. As awesome as picklesx SN is, I think getoffmyballs is my favorite in our group. :)

I agree. @getoffmyballs‌ wins at life for that username.

Haha! Don't stress honeybuns, it doesn't look that bad. I almost always wear it up in a bun. I'm sure if I wore it down people would be giving me their spare change but I'm not quite at that stage!

  • I also use baby powder for dry shampoo. I tried Dove and the smell was too overpowering and gunked up my hair too much. If I'm honest though, I don't even do the baby powder much, but I think my hair has gotten used to not bring washed every day. I go 2-3 days and it's (mostly) fine. It's way faster to take a body shower and I don't think I'll ever go back to washing my hair every day. I've been doing this for many years now.

  • I used to not be a dry shampoo believer and used baby powder, I have darker hair but I would put it in before bed and it kind of worked itself out by morning so it wasn't white. However I now use bath and body works Shea cashmere dry shampoo and I LOOOOVE it. It never leaves a weird residue and it totally makes my hair dry instead of greasy in the spots where I need it. I still like to apply before bed because I feel it looks more natural by morning. The sad thing is I had to stock up on this product because it got discontinued, you can probably still get it online.
  • Also, I think I was at my laziest the other night when I was at my parent's and I asked my dad to go to the theatre just to get me popcorn. He did.
  • Where do you get this batiste dry shampoo. I've never seen it in stores by me. Please tell me this is available in the US. I am intrigued.
  • I haven't washed my hair in 4 days. I usually only wash my hair 2-3 days a week since switching to wen. Since I've been lazy it just goes up into a bun everyday. Curly hair is obnoxious! I also usually only shave my lower legs, haven't shaved above the knee in maybe 2 weeks. Plus I've gotten lazy on the eyebrow tweezing, I just pluck the ones in the middle and some of the strays. Laundry has been in a pile on the couch and the hubs and I just grab clothes from there. Hopefully I will fold them tonight.
