FINALLY DISCHARGED this morning!!!! I'm sure my evening panic attack (due to being confined in a small room without a shower for yet another night) swayed the doctor to reassess my case asap in the am. He woke us up at 5:30am to give us the good news lol.
I'm still on bed rest until the foreseeable future, but I'm unplugged from monitors, showered, and in my own home. Hopefully this placenta heals up soon and I'll be able to return to a semblance of normal life in the next few weeks. DH is being a great caregiver (won't let me do anything) and huge help and has already set up our follow up perinatologist appointments for next week. So hopefully we're good to go.
Thank you guys again for your sweet support and encouraging words. I hope you all have much smoother rides than I have, but if there's a bump in your road, I'm there for you, girls! <<creepy internet hugs to all>>
Sorry I'm late to the thread but just wanted to say that I'm glad you are home resting rather than at the hospital. I hope LO stays on the inside for awhile longer yet! Thinking of you!
Glad you are home safe and resting-- I never appreciated what a luxury it was to be uncomfortable at home until I spent a day in L&D. I was sending you thoughts and prayers since I saw your comments on the other thread about being in the hospital but didn't see you thread til just now-- I will keep them heading your way that you can stay home and keep healing and resting.
P.s. DH and my brother were both born at 32 weeks in the 1980s and are perfectly healthy, my brother didn't even have more than a few hours in the NICU, which I kept in mind to keep myself calm as they started talking about C-Section. Your little one will be OK even if they make an early arrival.
"And He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness."
I'm sorry you're dealing with all of this! I hope you continue to heal and the contractions stop.
Bed rest does suck. I've found reading to be the best way to pass the time. TV just gets too boring. That or do some crafting, writing, or whatever interests you. I also recommend a house keeper!
I'm sorry you've had to go through this, but I'm glad you're getting all the info, options, and treatment you need!! I hope you recover quickly and you and baby both hang in there as long as you can! *interwebs hugs*
Thanks again for all of your kind words and support! OB determined that I'm still having some contractions, but they're going to keep me on Procardia until 36 weeks and then just let what happens happens. He thinks I should be able to make it to full term (yay!) but encouraged me to be a couch potato for the next few weeks (boo!). Overall, though, incredibly good news to come out of such a crazy situation. Thank you for your reassurance and wonderfully creepy internet hugs
So sorry to hear. I'm no expert but I don't believe birth defects are caused this late in the game. I'm glad that you're in good hands and doing better. I totally understand no matter how we tell you to be calm and everything will be fine you will still worry. It's our mother instinct. I am usually pretty calm but I when I was in a car accident at 24 weeks, I was a total train wreck and had a full blown panic attack.
Sending you lots of T & P and please keep us updated. Welcome back and thanks for sharing with us.
