Try 8oz of warmed up prune juice. It tastes like poison, but it works. Eat more fiber, drink more water. If you've tried everything and still nothing works, call your ob and they will write you a prescription.
My doc gave an over the counter, can't say it helps much. I know my doc doesn't want me to, but a cup of home brewed coffee not espresso really helps keep me better regulated and helps my migraines. I had this with my first also, it got better in tri 2, but was an issue on and off the whole pregnancy.
I haven't pooed since Tuesday.
Anyone have any tried and true home remedies, medication recommendations, magic spells?
At this point, you should probably take some Milk of Magnesia (totally safe during pregnancy) and then try a squatty potty, more fiber, etc to keep things regular.
LOL, it basically simulates how the cavemen pooped and lifts your feet off the ground so you're squatting. Between a more natural position and gravity...it seriously does help.
I don't have a squatty potty, but an upside down waste paper basket does the trick too! Lol. I have been having horrible gas pains the past few days. They are so uncomfortable. They come and go, usually I have to go to the bathroom after having them, which means I'm pooping 5-6 times a day! Anyone else experiencing this??

I've been taking 2 psyllium husk pills and drinking 2 glasses of metamucil daily. It helped after 2 days and now I'm finally regular. I agree with all of the eating suggestions, but for a while there I couldn't make myself eat anything other than carbs...
Unfortunately I'm more regular out my front end than my back end these days...I usually use smooth move but I read that senna is not safe during pregnancy. Coffee is my other go to. A cup of decaf did the trick this morning. I've only been going once every three days for the last couple weeks; I want to do a victory dance every time it happens!
This made me laugh because last night I felt like I "had to go", and sat there and sat there and sat there... but nothing. I was there so long my butt was numb and my feet fell asleep.
But as a few have mentioned, usually coffee does it for me.
I have IBS-C and I'm on a Miralax regimen. My doctor said it was safe and it works for me (I poo at least daily onit) but I'd always ask a doctor.
Apple or prune juice usually helps, too!
I read up on Miralax because it's always helped me- but everything I read says DONT take it while pregnant. I'm gonna try some of these, but (tmi maybe?) I'm really nervous about getting hemroids. I've heard they can get bad and painful in pregnacy. Does anyone know if all the OTC meds work and are safe?
Make sure you're drinking enough water and that you're getting healthy fats in your diet. Both of these will keep things moving as well.
There are fiber gummies on the market these days that taste like fruit snacks. Also I find dried fruit-- especially dried apricots-- helpful. Plus there are lots of high-fiber cereals out there too.
When all else fails, I drink some coffee and go for a walk.
