Hi my name is Anna. My husband and I lost our baby boy last Saturday 10/18/14. We had went to a high risk doctor on 10/6/14 because I had a marker for cystic fibrosis and they wanted to check my husband because if he had a marker the baby could get it. After blood work we went back to get a sono. The doctor told I'd that our baby had fluid on the neck and we had a 80% chance of our baby having an abnormality. They gave me the Materni21 test which we had to wait for results. That's all she left us with. I was freaking out and called OB and she sceduled is for a 2nd opinion at another HR doctor. We went to this one on 10/13/14. This doctor said that there was a large cystic hygroma of 11mm on the neck and also there was fluid all along the babys tummy and back which was fetal hydrops. She told us that our baby wouldn't make it and we should discuss what we want to do. She said if we waited it out we would deliver a stillborn baby at anywhere between 16-20 wks. Left there devastated. Tuesday the next day I started spotting. Wednesday we went back to our Ob and she said his organs are shutting down. She wanted me to go into a forced labor that Friday to deliver our sweet pea. Our only other choice was D&C and that could cause future fertility problems. So Friday we got admitted to the hospital and she started to enduce me at 7am. I delivered our sweet boy at 5:58am on Saturday. He had already passed. I held him and he stayed with us in the hospital. I was released on Sunday. We took him to get cremated. It has been a very tough week. The high risk doctor said this just happens and it's nothing I did or did not do. She also said we have a 98% chance of having another baby with no problems like him. We have to wait 3 months till we can try again. So we will start trying in January.
