TMI question...

I just peed and the water was a reddish color, but I wiped clean. This happened yesterday just once and every other time I went, it was normal. I took a pregnancy test last night and got a bold line, which was reassuring.

My diet hasn't changed and I haven't eaten anything that would cause a red tint. What could this be?

  • Call doctor. I had that happen and it was a kidney stone.

  • It could be a UTI (very common in early in pregnancy, and they dont always crop up with the usual set of symptoms - pain/burning or urgency, etc) so check in with your doc, they will probably have you do a urine culture just in case!
PCOS- finally pregnant after 3 years of IF treatment, including 4 failed IUI.

Lucky IUI #5 currently growing in my belly!

  • Thinking and sending good thoughts your way! Praying for you too, I'm sure it's just a uti or something more minor.

  • I experienced this with my first pregnancy.  I went in for one of my regularly scheduled appts and when they tested my urine sample (which was a deep orange color), they stated there was blood in the sample.  My doctor mentioned it could happen due to dehydration amongst other possible scenarios (like kidney stones).  To be on the safe side, she had me come back in the next day to leave a sample so they could keep an eye on it, thankfully it didn't appear on the second day.  IMHO, it is worth having the doctor check it out.

I got sent to the ER on Wednesday for a high fever and constant nausea. I had a slight pressure in my side. It turned out to be a kidney infection, the doctor said to come back immediately if I peed red. If it weren't for the fever I would have just kept thinking this pregnancy was kicking my butt! You should definately go see your doctor immediately.
