changes since becoming a mom

I wrote a post on my blog yesterday about the ways being a mom has changed me. Mostly humorous. (https://www.loggerswife.com/2014/10/8-ways-how-becoming-mom-has-changed-me.html)

Then as I was driving to the grocery store this morning I thought of another one. I never used to get up quite as early as I do now to get to the store. I always preferred to shop earlier in the day but I now aim to get there about 7:30am to avoid crowds. I'm usually home by 9am when I used to try to get there by 8:30 or so. We pack Cheerios and juice for the cart and off we go as soon as DD wakes up. Just a silly way my life has changed.

What silly ways has your life changed since having a kid(s)?

I can definitely relate to all of those. Let's see, becoming a mom  has pretty much changed EVERY thing in my life, so something silly... I guess that I now have strong opinions about kids tv shows. I actually started raving about Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood at work the other day. It was pretty weird.

I think my funniest change is my radio. I actually enjoy the Disney and Toddler Pandora stations and will listen to them by myself.

I read your blog and all your points were right on. I was reading and kept thinking yep.

I have changed by realizing how little sleep I can function on. Also, my sleep habits have changed. I used to be able to sleep through anything. Now the slightest noise and I am jumping up to see what's wrong.

I have developed the ability to ignore a tantruming toddler and continue what I was doing (making it clear that I'm happy to talk to him when he calms down, of course).  There may or may not be a meltdown occurring right now... :P

We love Daniel Tiger here too. I think it has taken over Curious George for the favorite show. Personally, I'd rather watch George. lol. But she has learned sooo much from Daniel Tiger.


I still need a fair amount of sleep to function. I wish that changed. It would make things so much easier.

I had another one this morning!

I rarely finish a cup of coffee. And if I do, I've had to heat it back up at least once if not 2 or 3 times.
