Placenta seperation?

My OB just called me (at 8:30 at night). She got the results of my ultrasound. She says it shows a tiny seperation in the placenta. She said as long as I am not bleeding (I am not), it's nothing to worry about and these things usually fix themselves.

Of course, my pgal brain is freaking the fuck out right now. I CANNOT lose this baby now. I just can't.

Anyone have any experience with this? Calm my nerves?

Re: Placenta seperation?

  • I didn't have a separation, but I did have a Subchorionic hemorrhage which seems similar. Unfortunately I lost mine, but many women don't. I hope and pray this will be ok for you!

  • If the nurse wasn't worried about it, I'm sure it's fine. They probably see things like this everyday. Will keep you on my prayers!
  • Yes! I had the same with my son at about 6 weeks. The doc put me on progesterone pills. I don't think it ever healed but the placenta didn't separate any further. I did have bleeding that is how I was diagnosed. Anyway my son is now 9yrs old. So if the doc says not to worry I wouldn't.
