NR3T, but kind of...any Adderall Ladies Out There?

I believe there was a post on this a few weeks/months ago, but I just started Adderall today and so far no difference. My psychiatrist told me I should feel a difference by tomorrow and if not to double up my pills. I'm nervous because my in-laws are coming this weekend and I have no idea how I will respond to the Adderall....if you don't mind sharing...did you have any side effects from the drug right when you started taking it? Did your psychiatrist say anything about taking it while TTC? My doc knows I've been going through fertility treatments and doesn't see any issue taking it while TTC. 

Vent: On a side note I feel like a total druggie...I'm on Xanax XL for anxiety, Wellbutrin for depression and now Adderall for my complete inability to focus on anything. Maybe I should TPT my brain for having so many issues.

Are you on the extended release? I don't think they put people on the one that isn't but just wondering. I was on Adderall for almost 3 years, it is my wonder pill, what a difference. When I first started taking it, I didn't like it, it made me feel like I was on speed, but within a couple of weeks I was used to it and didn't have that side effect anymore. I also noticed a decline in my appetite while on it, I didn't lose weight but I didn't gain either. I went off Adderall when I started TTC and within 6 weeks put on 10 pounds. My RE said I can take it while doing IVF until I get pregnant (hopefully) but since I'm not working I chose to just not take it. Also, I didn't take it on weekends, I would only take it when I worked for he most part. I will also add I noticed a difference immediately, the first time I took it.

Thanks for the info. I was hoping weight loss would be a nice side effect lol! I'm on 10 mg and I don't believe I'm on the extended release. I'll have to ask my doc about that when I go back. I'm happy you described this as a wonder drug because I have been on the fence about taking it for years, but since I'm on a break till the new year thought I would give it a go!

If I wasn't going through IVF I would be taking it, it helped me tremendously. I was happy about the loss of appetite also, I think it did keep my weight down. I was on 20 mg, extended release. I thought they didn't give the non extended release anymore but I could be wrong. I was also on the fence about taking it for a long time, until I started taking it, then I thought back on all the years in school that I struggled unnecessarily. After I hopefully have a baby or am finished with IF treatments (bc if this IVF doesn't work I'm done with IF treatments) I will go back on it in a second.

NariaDreaming thanks for the support. I take extended release Xanax at night and will def be transitioning off if I ever get a BFP. I keep going back and forth regarding the Wellbutrin during pregnancy even though it is a Class C. Buspar is the only Class B I know if for anxiety, but it totally does nothing for me. I'm excited about the Adderall, but after your comment on taking it with Xanax I might try taking my Xanax earlier in the evening so I'm nice and ready for the Adderall in the morning. I'm surprised my doc didn't mention this to me!

Mental illness really sucks especially when you don't have a supportive family or DH. My DH does not understand why I freak out about things so quickly and when I try to explain it's my anxiety taking over he usually says "just put it out of your mind, just forget it" and I really want to scream that I have an illness and it's just like any other illness and he would never tell me to "just think it away" if I had something like diabetes. Oh how I wish people had more empathy for people with mental illnesses.

@NariaDreaming‌ For some reason I thought they stopped prescribing the standard release because it has a higher potential for abuse. I'm going to ask my doctor about it because the XR seems to kick in again late in the afternoon and if I don't take it super early in the morning I have trouble sleeping at night. You take a second dose in the afternoon? Sounds similar to the way the XR works, only you're taking another pill. I'd rather not have it in the afternoon so the standard release would be better for me. I don't know if what I'mtrying to say here makes sense, sorry, I rambled on a bit. Being as though I'm not taking it for now it's not a big deal but when I'm ready to start taking it again I'm going to ask my doctor about the standard release, thanks.
