I was hoping some of you could help me in narrowing down which strollers worked best for you?? I would really prefer the travel system type stroller but I feel like there are a million out there. So any recommendations on one's you've all used would be greatly appreciated!!
We will do car seats in the Joovy Twin Roo for as long as we can and then change over to the MacLauren Twin Techno. I had to scour craigslist until I found things I coukd afford. Seems I have champaign taste on a sparkling cider budget. Ha!
We did the double snap and go for 9 months-convenient yes, but man it's a beast to maneuver. Our 'real' stroller is the Bumbleride Indie Twin which we LOVE!!
I'm going to do double snap n go with Chicco key fit initially. I'm getting both from another twin mama friend whose boys just outgrew them. I figure we'll use those for 6 mos or so. Then I want to buy the City mini double GT. It's pricey but I don't want to buy a cheaper stroller and hate it... I'm justifying it bc I'm saving $ initially by buying my friend's stuff!

We have a Mountain Buggy duet with the Chicco Keyfit carseat adapters. I wanted something that was easy to maneuver and allowed the babies to be side by side rather than tandem and one that would work with carseats and later without. Also my husband is very tall 6'4" and this is comfortable for him to push. We've been happy with it so far (other than having to replace two tubes). It fits through all doorways and is super easy to steer.
We have chiccos and a joovy roo twin snap in - LOVE IT for transporting to and from car and for restaurants (I just pull it up to the table and turn baby B around)
it is a beast to maneuver so we also have a contours optima which we did use with car seats but I was happy to finally move to seats because it was kind of a pain with the car seats and didn't fit in my trunk. Its GREAT for long walks, very maneuverable.
I am looking to buy a side by side now though - now that they are outgrowing the car seats, I want something else I can pull up to the side of a table and the Contours doesn't quite work for restaurants like that. Its also a beast for lugging along to the zoo and stuff.
So I have to say... I have been doing research and it seems the best by far (ratings wise) stroller is the city mini double. But it doesn't accommodate 2 car seats which I am really bummed about. I have no idea what to do next because like OP, I also want a travel system. Any other recs besides the graco? The graco gets terrible reviews! I was surprised!
I have the baby trend double snap n go right now and i have a double city mini gt. They are winter babies so we don't take the out much but we use the snap n go right now but i can't wait till they get a little bigger so we can use the city mini.
I wanted to just buy one that would work as a travel system from the beginning but i just couldn't find one i liked.

@greks84 After hours of research and asking other Multiple Mommies we decided on the Bugaboo Donkey Chicco Double Stroller Frame and the Chicco Keyfit 30 as a Travel System for the time being. And for when they older we got the Baby Jogger City Select with the added second seat attachment. I know it feels like a lot but this was the only way we were going to be able to have a travel system when they're so young.

@u121693 it looks like I may have to do the same! I really wanted to get a one stop shop but it doesn't look like that is going to happen! Thanks!
4legsRbest The Countours Optimum is great. I got a double snap n go but I never used it because the coutours does the same thing. I LOVE that stroller.
I also have a double jogging stroller I use for around the nighborhod and it's okay but I love my coutours.
I have a Joovy Twin Roo that my Graco snugrides fit into and I don't know how I would live without it. It is just the most convenient stroller, and I take it everywhere. I also have a Combi SBS stroller, which was a hand me down. I like how it folds up. I do not use it quite as much now, so I am kind of indifferent about it. I do prefer SBS strollers to tandem ones in my experience.
We used a Double Snap N Go that I got for free from another MoM for - get this - 7 months. Then, my son outgrew his infant seat and we had to go to convertibles. I'm so glad I didn't pay a ton. So, I now use one of two strollers - a Dream On Me that is a monster, but has all the features I love and is really comfy. It doesn't fit in my Cadillac, though - so I have to take the VW station wagon if we're using that stroller at the zoo or something. It's this one: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Dream-On-Me-Duplex-Stroller-Brown/35239750
Likes: Easy to maneuver, dual reclining seats (separately) and very adjustable, one-handed close, big, sturdy canopy, no wider than a wheelchair, five-point harness, nice basket underneath, snap pockets on the back for loose stuff. I used with the babies starting around 4 or 5 months. Dislikes: Doesn't fit in my Caddy, quite heavy.
and it's been great. It's lightweight, folds up compactly for my trunk, but still feels sturdy. Still no wider than a wheelchair, BUT:
- The seats don't sit forward as much when not reclined. The 'recline' is a strap that you tighten.
- Because of the nature of a folding stroller, it's got two umbrella handles instead of one that goes across, so one-hand pushing isn't really possible.
- Tiny baskets on the bottom that are practically worthless
- Also can't hang much on the back or it'll topple. Not well-balanced.
It does have a five point harness, but the buckle is really weird.
If I had an SUV or minivan, I'd stick with the Dream on Me all the way. I really like it. If space is an issue, the other one was the best I could find. I did a TON of research on strollers, more than I care to admit. These had what I wanted and were in my price range.

I know I responded to this in October. Since then, we bought two sh!tty $30/each umbrella strollers at BRU - we needed them for an outing that could not accommodate our bigger stroller. We are hooked now, and that is all we use. They aren't fancy, have no baskets and don't recline but its so nice to have a light little stroller that you can throw in the trunk. Of course there has to be two of us to use them but man, way better than the giant double stroller!!!
MH and I "race" with our strollers to the park lol. Its nice that we each "have a baby" So much easier to go into our neighborhood stores and fit through aisles.
I still kind of want the City Mini GT - and am hoping its a Christmas gift
