June 2015 Moms

Intro and (long!) WWYD?

Hello! I'm pregnant with our second child, due June 8. Our first child is named Anna and she turned one last month. A little nervous to have 2 under 2, but I know I'm definitely not the only one, and it can be done!

As for my question, here it is. My husband is a groomsman for his friend on June 18. Yep, ten days after my due date. Since I'm going to need a c section with this baby, too, i bet I'll have the baby sometime before my due date. The wedding is 6 hours away, we would have to drive. I will not be able to get a baby sitter, I'm not worried about watching the kids, but I'm worried that I shouldn't be traveling that far after a c section. And making sure my toddler isn't getting into anything at the wedding while holding a newborn.

I guess I'm worried because with my first, something happened with my incision, and it took 2 months for it to close fully, and it bled a lot during that first month. So I want to be near my doctor. I don't want to be left home with two kids that soon either. I kinda just want my husband to drop out of the wedding... But is that unreasonable? He's not crazy about that idea. He accepted before we knew we were pregnant.

Sorry about the novel!

  • Do you have family that can stay with you and help while your husband goes? That's what I usually see in these situations. My husband had to stand in for me as a bridesmaid because I was on bed rest during a wedding I was supposed to be in, so at least it's not you. :)

I don't know why, but your husband standing in for you made me laugh! What a great guy! We haven't told anyone that I'm pregnant, but when we do say the due date, I bet the groom will be curious. I'll talk to my mom about it when we tell her, see if she will have the day off or something.
  • I would let hubby go and I would stay home. My husband has a work conference very near my due date. Unless I am in labor, he is going.
    Congratulations and good luck!
  • I agree with PP...this is what grandparents are for (as long as they're local of course). :) my parents are 4 hours away and they're down here every month to help out.
