Method of sharing photos with friends and family

Does anyone have any good suggestions for apps and websites good to upload photos of our daughter to in order to share with family and friends?

We will use facebook and post some pictures there, but we want to be able to upload more pictures to share with family and friends, so we don't overwhelm facebook.

I would like it to be a secure site, where people have to request to see the pictures and we must approve their access before they can see the pictures. User friendly would also be nice, since I expect mostly this will be used by grandparents!

I'm not sure if there is an add on to lock a wordpress blog, but we're putting pics up on one for family to not overwhelm Facebook. I'm not really worried about the security side, because no one besides family is going to know it exists.

We use shutterfly, and I just provide the username and password to anyone who is interested in looking and who I trust.

We actually have a website through shutterfly. I made it when DD2 was born but I don't remember how exactly.

Shutterfly is great for that.  Everytime I add pics, the people on my approved list get an email that tells them to check it out.  Also, Shutterfly runs great promotions, so my parents and IL's are always getting cute stuff put on things like coffee mugs or cell phone covers.  They can pick out the pictures they love.

I was just tols about Lifecake and downloaded it. It makes a timeline of sorts and you can share it with family and friends.

I have used 23snaps for ds for over a year. It's free and people can use as an app or log on online. It's really amazing and easy to use.

I too don't put much on Facebook and use this just for family and close friends. You invite who you want to see everything.

I just downloaded an app called daily kiddo but I haven't used it yet do I'm not sure how user friendly or secure it is.

Instagram is great. In order to see your pics they have to have an account (free) and request to follow you.

We use Snapfish for the same reasons mentioned above about Shutterfly 

Very easy to invite friends and family. They love being able to order photo gifts or save the images straight from the website. 

Definitely user friendly

Dropbox!!

I'm not a fan of putting too much stuff on social media of my baby, so I have invited all family and close friends to share my Dropbox folder.
