Not quite excited

My boyfriend has been so excited since we found out. He googles car seats and talks about the baby all the time. I'm still so nervous since we haven't had our first doctor's visit (10/30). I have so many worries, like the beer I drank before we found out. Or the daily Starbucks habit I'm attempting to kick. I feel like he gets to be all excited and I get to worried, bloated, and nauseated.

Don't get me wrong I love that we are starting a family, I'm just not ready to shout it from the rooftop.

  • I am in the same boat! My sig. Other is so excited and hurried and told his mom, when I havent even attempted to decide how to tell mine! Hes shopping and always talking about it, and my constant irritated mood makes me want to slap him! Lol no worries tho! Everything will buff out. And all those things you did such as beer and coffee, those wont hurt the baby!

  • I know EXACTLY what you mean. I was excited at first and now I'm just worried: about how we will afford the baby, how I will manage my job and a new child, what this will mean for our relationship, etc. Not to mention all of the physical things I'm dealing with. I'm annoyed and tired and sick all the time and my SO doesn't have to experience any of that.
  • Totally normal! I remember having a tad bit of resentment towards my hubby in the beginning last time. He was all living the high life while I was hovering over a toilet. This first trimester is the worst of it. You'll get your groove back and soon feel like shouting from the rooftop that you are preggers. Ok so maybe that's not your idea of something to do but eventually you'll come around! It's so great he is active and excited so soon. Some guys can't wrap their head around until they are sitting there cutting the cord :)

  • My appointment is 10/30 as well. I am a nervous wreck as this will be my second rainbow baby. Like pp said, a beer and some starbucks won't hurt baby. Sometimes it takes until the second trimester to get excited. The guys don't have to change much about what they do or have morning sickness, but they also don't feel kicks or bond with the baby before it's born.
